Curado E7 vs. Revo SX vs Revo STX
Actually, it wasn't just cosmetic upgrades to the SX. The magnetic brake was upgraded for better control.

Curado E7 vs. Revo SX vs Revo STX
You can't go wrong with any of them as far as I'm concerned. The only difference is that Abu Garcia has sweetened the deal with a set of Wiley X Glasses for free with purchase of any reel over $159.99. I already owned an SX before this, and it has worked perfect for me since the start, so I decided to get another to take them up on this deal. But if that doesn't interest you, I'd say stick with what you already know and go with the Curado.

Gamakatsu Skip Gap Shakey Heads
I wish Gander stocked these. :-[ They would work PERFECT with Strike King Elaztech worms. I'm not a smoker, and trying to remember a lighter to heat the screw for my other shakey heads is just going to be annoying.

Citica 200E spare brake weights?
Ahh ok, I didnt think to check out their website. I'll go there and check out what they say about them. Thanks for the reply. Edit: Figure I'll post it here for others to see if they didn't know either.

Citica 200E spare brake weights?
Can anyone tell me if there's a difference between the spare weights and the ones already in the reel? I bought the Citica today to use for spinner baits. I've been looking through the papers that come with it and I can't find anything that states if there's a difference or not, even though they appear to be. I might have missed it but its bugging me to know.

Topwater color selection.
I've always used black/darker colors on cloudy days, and white/lighter colors on sunny days. While some day's, they'd go for it regardless of color and condition, others they would only hit them if I went by that. I'm not sure who taught me that.. But it seems to hold true for me part of the time.

Abu Garcia, Anti-Backlash 6601AB Left Handed Baitcasting Reel
Order to Abu the part. I agree. Call them up and order the piece you need. But, If for whatever reason you can't do this, try going somewhere like Fastenal that will stock many different kinds of nuts and bolts. Its going to be a left hand thread, which is why you can't find one more than likely. But any respectable fastener store will have left hand thread nuts in nearly any size and thread pitch.

Bill Dance's Hook Remover ???
Rapala also has one of these hook remover tools. Works great, seems to be an all stainless construction with rubber coated handles. I have mine on a "wrist" band that I actually hang from a belt loop, so its always right there if I need it.

P-Line CXX Breaking Strength
I was doing some knot tests the other night with some 8# CXX. The line was breaking around 14 pounds every time, if the knots I was testing didn't break first.

round baitcasters
I use an Abu Garcia round body for my pitch/flipping/frog stick. The bait monkey had me buy it, and I was thinking "Why did I buy this again?" when I walked out of the store. But it ended up working perfectly fine for what I got it.

Worm Burn?
Brake cleaner is non-corrosive. It's used to clean a lot more than just car parts. Many even use clean drying brake clean to clean electronics, which is much more susceptible to corrosion than these finished fishing reels. I really doubt any self respecting fisherman keeps his very expensive fishing gear stuffed in the garage.

Braid again???
I use Sufix Performance Braid. It lost some of its color, but it didn't stain anything as far as I know. Some braids will flatten out with use. The good kind will keep their round shape. Power Pro and Sufix both keep their shape as far as I've seen. Thats about all I can chime in for here.

Worm Burn?
I wouldn't call it neglect, but I wouldn't call it a bad item from Quantum either. If it were a manufacturing defect, its unlikely you would see the frame, cover and spool all flake and corrode in the same fashion, being that they don't likely coat all three of those objects in the same area. Something got on it, but you'll probably never know what it was.

Worm Burn?
Well that made me take a quick glance to check if I left any plastics on the hook holders.

Worm Burn?
Yep, working now. Wow, thats a horror show!

Worm Burn?
I dunno if its just me or not, but I can't see any pictures.

Pitch casting help
Like the others said, pitching jigs is more about accuracy than distance, and its also meant to make a silent entry as to not spook any bass near whatever you want to cast to. I might be able to pitch up to 50 feet, but I'm only accurate within 2 feet maybe. Not to mention trying to pitch that far is not a whole lot different than casting, and its not a very silent entry. On the other hand, I can pick a target and get right next to it or in it if its within 25 feet of me. Thats more along the lines of what pitching is meant for. Its also a good thing to practice pitching into something, like maybe a 5 gallon bucket, when its on it's side. This is something you might use to get underneath dock sections, boat house doors, or low hanging tree branches.

sinking spros
I've filled in holes or cracks with a hot glue gun. One was a Hula Popper that I did this to over 2 seasons ago and its still holding fine. And being somewhat clear, it shouldn't affect any color schemes.

I just don't trust this thing
I bought the Trio 30 for a finesse rod, I love it so far. Very smooth and feels very tight. Feels much better than my Symetre, which is $20 more for retail. I got this Trio for 59.99 last weekend though, so $40 is quite a difference. The 30 can hold 200y of 6#, 160y of 8#, and 110y of 10#. Thats plenty in my opinion.

Braid-to-Fluoro
Finally! An easy knot to tie that will hold up. I just gave this a test with some 50# Sufix braid and 15# 100% Trilene I had sitting around. The first one I tied slipped, but its because I messed it up. The second try, hard as a rock. The flouro line itself broke every time, nowhere near the knot. Same two lines produced a bad knot 6 times is a row when I was tying the double Uni. I'll definitely be using this knot from now on.

Re: Turn off your ceiling fans.
Aww crap. I deleted the original post. That edit buttons a little close to the delete button :-[ Well, jist was my rod went in the ceiling fan, I cussed a lot, and decided to rant on here and hopefully get that thought stuck into the back of some other peoples minds to look up before you handle your fishing rods. Good news is the fan is broken for good now.

Okuma Trio
I picked one up a couple days ago, and so far I'm really liking it. It's pretty light, being put on a cheap Berkley rod weighs 15 oz total with line and a lure on it. The drag is smooth, and the forward drag knob is easily adjusted and very crisp feeling. It reels very smooth too. It almost seems like the bail is balanced as well. My other spinning reels will wobble with a fast turn of the crank. This one stays pretty still. I picked it up to use as a finesse reel, being that its a 5:1 retrieve. I was messing with it in a pond behind my friends house catching some half pint bass, a little above a pound and a half at the most. It's got me excited to get out and put this thing to work. Anyone looking at new spinning reel, don't count it out. I got it for 59.99 at my local Gander Mountain this weekend. I know the neck is a little weird, but it's very well built and I have zero worries about this reel.

Re: Turn off your ceiling fans.
Because they are a good company I called and asked them this morning if they replace rods with a broken tip if its still under 30 days. He asked what rod it was, I told him, and he said "Yeah, bring it in and we'll give you a replacement." He didn't ask me how I broke it or anything. I went there, they gave me the choice of replacement, exchanged it and I was on my way. I ended up getting a 7'6", same power and action. That way, I'm getting longer casts, and room for tip replacement if I ever happen to snap it off again. But now that my fan just plain doesn't work anymore, I plan to leave it that way. So that won't be happening again.

Re: Turn off your ceiling fans.
This was on low too. Probably why I didnt notice it was on being that its pretty loud on high. I think it caught on the shroud around the fan motor, and the blade come along and snapped it. I can't see this rod being broken that easily. I've had it for less than 30 days, I wonder if Bass Pro will replace it? I know most don't cover a broken tip, but I guess its worth a call tomorrow.

Has anyone gotten the Wiley X sunglasses from Abu?
I sent my rebate in about a week and a half ago. I emailed one of their support people, just curious as to how long it could take for the tracking to show up for my rebate, and they told me to allow atleast 2 weeks to receive and process my rebate. Thats all I know so far.
