Need Help In A Bind
I totally agree but the first one was broken during shipping so that one doesnt count. I have broke two and my friend has broke two. All I know is I have been fishing for years and never broke a rod until I started using the Veritas. I have not changed my technique at all. I WILL NOT put all blame on the rods because its not the right thing to do I might have something to do with it but regardless I am gunshy and hve no confidence in the rods anymore.

Need Help In A Bind
Ok guys fished a club tourney yest. @ Lake Jordan and broke another Veritas (3 total since using) It was th 7'3" model. Broke on hookset. well I am wanting to get away from the Veritas on my Jig and plastics rods. What I am asking is for suggestions on a good $160 or less TOUGH rod. I cant afford anything more expensive than that since with the economy and it being tourney season money is tight. I will need one rod for pitching jigs (Northstar) 1/2 and 3/8 oz. And one rod for pitching and flipping 3/8-3/4 oz creature baits. Any suggestions???

Fish On A Miscast ?
Me and my fishing partner were fishing a tourney last year @ Lake Jordan here in bama. It was a great tourney. Pouring down rain i tried to keep one eye peeled for his hooksets because I would have never heard him call for net. Well it happened. He sets the hook I immediately drop my rod to get the net (coosa river spots DONT PLAY) net his fish a good 3.5lb spot. Walk back to livewell to cull look at my rod everything is good. Cull a fish pick up my rod and see my line is swimming off. BAM set the hook and catch a 3.5lb spot. Ended up with 16.5lb on the day.

What To Throw Here?
Blk/Blu Jig is what I would start with. What state is this water located? Average size of fish would help also. Oh and this time of year and with that water temp I would think they would be suspended so I would also try a medium diving crank something in chart.

Abu Garcia questions for those with experience...
I love my Veritas. I use the 7'M for cranking. For jigs 3/8 + I use a 7'3" MH/F. For frogs I also use the 7'3" MH/F

1995 Javelin with 175 Johnson is it worth it?
I have a friend who had almost that same Javelin and I can tell you it will fish really small compared to what you have been fishing out of. I am used to a 2000 18ft Procraft and it fishes bigger than my friends 19ft Javelin. Besides that it is a GREAT boat and motor. Just fishes small. If that makes sense.

Show off your Stuff
These are my usual rods. I also have a 7ft Falcon Carolina Lizard Dragger with Pro Q for C-Rigs and a 7ft 6in Veritas with STX for heavy cover that stay in the boat. They are not pictured (too lazy to get them out). Also have another 6'9" Veritas that broke and had to be sent back to Abu I throw swim and finesse jigs with it. But here's the goods:

Classic winning lure
The silent ones are great cranks. What's funny is the whole new lure won the classic : Last year it was the gold sexy shad red eye. This year it is the new RATTLING (soon to be released) kvd 1.5 I really dont know if i will pick any up or not I will stick to the H2O (easier to get my hands on)

A good entry Crankbait setup?
The most important thing is the gear ratio on the reel for bigger cranks. The lower the gear ratio the better it is on you. I suggest a 4:7.1 or 5:2.1 BPS pro-qualifier great cheap low gear ratio reel. It has made it through a whole year of series 6xd and norman dd22's with no problems

abu garcia vertias rod ( spinning & casting updated ( from anyone who owns one ?
I have: 7' M Spinning 6'6" M Casting 6'9" MH Casting 7' M Casting 7' MH Casting 7'3" MH Casting 7'6" MH Casting and plan on picking up another 7' MH tomm. I love these rods and have only had one hiccup. Had the rod break in half on the hookset. I have been using these rods since their release in Sept. due to decent weather down here in Bama they have been used on average 2-3 times a week. Got to say the 7' M casting i use for cranks and the 7' M spinning i use for shakey heads are my favorites.

Orra brake system help
Hey guys i have 5 abu garcia Orras and love them. The only 7:1.1 I have i cant quite get the braking down right. How exactly does the pitch centrifigual system work. I can cast with little or no backlashes but when adjusted to get the distance i should be getting (realistically) I cant keep it from backlashing. I am pretty smart with reels but this has me stumped. I am hoping maybe knowing how that braking system works will help alot. Thanks guys.

Bass Hunter Boat Help
OK guys i have a small bass boat exactly like this one http://www.1stdirectproducts.com/minbasfisboa.html The problem is it is starting to leak. I installed two plugs to drain the water so i could load into back of truck by myself. In a couple of hrs fishing it will take on at least 4 gallons or so of water if not more. I need to use some kind of sealent around the plugs and to seal up a small crack around 4in long on the back and also want to seal around the seams. The seams look like they are not sealed anymore. Does anybody know of a really good sealent to use in this application. Everything I have tried doesnt seem to be doing the job. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
