Need help fishing a pond
I've read that article many times when I first started bass fishing a few years ago. I wasn't just using reaction bait, but I was also threw jigs and flipped senkos both weightless and Texas rig. I haven't tried it wacky rig style, but I did throw a flick shake on a 1/16oz jughead with no luck. I'm gonna go out later this evening with a topwater and a rage tail anaconda on the Carolina rig and see if I can get into deeper water since I'm struggling in the shallows

seagur flourocarbon
I have used both lines but only in 4lb test for finesse application. To me, the tastu have the lower memory and also more abrasion resistance.

Need help fishing a pond
Can't use float tubes there. They do rent out paddle boats but it will be quite expensive

Need help fishing a pond
Hey guys, I live in Long Beach, CA and I have been fishing a pond near me called Eldorado park. It has three ponds in the park, but I fish the bigger lake that have lots tullies as cover. During the spawn I was doing pretty well with keitechs, but with summer coming along, I have been getting skunk. This whole week I tried everything from different reaction bait with different retrieve to flipping and punching. I haven't gotten any bites at all. All I know is the grass and moss grass are a couple inches below the surface, schools of small bluegill are around the shore, and occasionally bass chasing bait fish on top. The temperature here in Long Beach has been between high 70s to low 80s. Im also bank fishing. Any tips on what to do?

Anyone tried the Major Craft Nanoace rods yet?
I've read tackletour's review of the rod, but its not the model i was looking for. I tried googling more info about the rod, but there's not much out there. I do have a few of their JDM rods, but I just wanted to see other people's input on these particular models.

Anyone tried the Major Craft Nanoace rods yet?
Hey guys, I was hoping that I can get some feedback on certain models of these rods. I'm interested in the 7'5 medium heavy crankbait rod and the 7'3 medium heavy extra fast frog rod. I'll mainly use the crankbait model for fishing squarebills and medium divers, while the 7'3 model for fishing 1/4 - 1/2 oz jigs. What are you guys thoughts on these rods? Thanks in advance.

Swimbait Vs Glidebait
What's your price range for swimbaits? If you don't want to spend too much, check out the river2sea swaver and the 6in spro bbz. They're both under $30 and a good place to start. There's also alot of videos on these baits on YouTube to help out too. Hope this helps and good luck.

Trouble Casting Far With New Baitcaster
Your casting distance is fine in my opinion, but it all depends on what lure you're throwing and also the type of cover that is available at your lakes. If you want further distance, try lighter line. I would recommend for you to try and learn to clean your bearings (which isn't a hard thing, but i cant seem to explain it) or buy new ones to see if your performance increases. There's other factors that affects your casting ability, but the list is too long.

Lucky Craft Real Bluegill And The Mattlures Ultimate Bluegill
I have no experience with the ultimate bluegill, but i have used the u2 bluegill from mattlures. The downside on the u2 bluegill or most of his soft body swimbaits won't swim straight out of the package. To solve this problem, you will have to boil the body. This method should be on his site. Another thing is that you will have to fish the bluegill faster in order to get the tail to start kicking. If you fish it too slow, the tail will have little or no action at all. The upside of this bait is that when you dead stick it on the bottom, it will stand on its nose like its feeding on the bottom. This is the only input i can add, don't know if it will help you much.

Skipping Jig
I agree with T up there. Adjusting your reel correctly is more important than the rod. You can use any rod to skip a jig.

New Confidence Baits For 2015
Crosstail shads have been my goto bait for a while now. I've gave up on them for a bit as I'm trying to learn how to fish a jig and crankbait more.

Lake Pyramid California - Little Help?
I fish at pyramid a lot and I like the lake a lot. Half of the lake is accessible to bank fishermen. To access other areas of the lake, you have to go on the trails and explore. These trails will exhaust you very quickly with lots of incline and decline hill. I mostly drop shot at this lake and sometimes throw a few reaction lures with luck.

Which Model For Dobyns Champion? 734 Or 735?
WRB, if I'm not going to lakes, then I'm usually fishing at el Dorado. I call the tullies heavy cover because I usually try to throw my jigs as deep as I can inside of it. I've recently went to the delta and was using a glx 853 with a curado 51e and 40lb braid. When fishing the tullies, the rod struggles to muscle the fish out and I'm worried that if the bigger fish comes, I might not be able to do anything.

Thanks for the quick reply Hank. Is there a reason why you pick the 735 over the 734?

Pond Fishing Setups
When I go to a pond, I always bring my finesse rods due to the crazy pressure here in southern California. I have a 6'6 ml spinning rod for drop shot and a 6'8 medium baitcast for small crankbaitbait or spybait.

New To Bass Fishing
Welcome to bass resource. Since you're 17, I assume you're going to college correct? If you are, see if there's a fishing club or if there's a fishing team you can join. I live in California and am apart of my school's fishing team. The club will introduce you to new ideas for bass fishing. I just experience my first tournament and didn't do as well as I expected, but I learned a lot from it.

Which Model For Dobyns Champion? 734 Or 735?
Hello guys, haven't been on this forums for a while, but I'm in need of help. I'm looking for a brand new rod dedicated for 3/8oz jigs. I will be using the rod for pitching and flipping to heavy cover and also want to throw football jigs in open water. I narrow my decision on these two models of dobyns. Which one do you guys think will fit best for me? I live in southern California and the lakes I usually fish are lake pyramid, skinner, DVL, and silver wood.
