i have a 734c rod and i think it is an okay rod. i dont very like it that much when im using bottom contact lures because it has a soft tip which feels weird to me since i like a stiffer tip for bottom contact lure. but this rod excel great when throwing small plastic swimbaits like basstrix. this is when the rod works best for me.

hey guys, i just bought a used shimano stradic ci4 1000fml for finesse fishing. while fishing today, i was adjusting how much drag power i should use (tight or loose). but whenever i loosen my drag and pull the line to test the drag power, i notice that the drag star starts to turn to the right and tightening itself. so my question is have this ever happen to you and how would you fix this problem? thnx for any advice.

the strike king kvd 1.5/2.5 is my goto crankbait. it has great action and also cheaper than many other crankbait on the market.

you can try the 6in huddleston or the 68 special huddleston. heard these work the best. you could also try mattlures tournament series.

for $110 you can get an lamiglas excel 735 model that is rated for small swimbaits and frog.

read this for tips: top water would be good for morning and late afternoon. the gulp shad would be good if you fish near grass and the tules. spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and also swimbaits will also be great to help you with your trip.

hey guys, i went to bass pro yesterday to pick up some fishing supplies and i decided to pick up the rago bv3d mini 5.5 in the shad color. i wasnt careful enough to see that the tail of the bait was already cricket. so i was wandering if i can boil this swimbait like the mattlures bluegill and huddleston baits? i would had returned it but bass pro is like an hour away from my house.

well i went to some local ponds to test out the lures after i boiled them. didnt catch any thing on them but they all are swimming straight with no problems. thnx to everyone who gave me advice.

well i just finish boiling the lures, but the top fin of one of the swimbait is just a little cricket. do you think it will affect how it swims?

thnx again for the info. i am going to boil it again and see if it will swim straight. another question, how do you guys store these bait without using the swimbait tackle box? i usually just tied these bait to line spool and just let them hang. is this good or bad for the bait?

hey guys, i was wandering why my mattlure u2 bluegill isn't swimming straight. i've tried boiling it and cooling it down, but it isn't working. so my question is how do you guys who used this bait before make your bluegill swim straight to you? thnx for any advice

you should check out the fishing flea market here because there are some people who sell some good baitcast rods for a very good price.

anybody getting hit out there? went today and saw bass blowing up on shads in the morning but they were to far away to get to. my brother was able to catch a one pounder but besides that we got nothing else.

i love to fish the senko weightless so i like to use a shimano cumara 6'8" m. i know that there are some more expensive rods out there that are better than the cumara, but i dont have the kind of money to try them out.

i havent caught any fish on this lures but i got alot of follows on it. i almost had to but i messed up on my hookset, plus i wasnt using the jighead. instead i decided to use a gamakastu size 4 wide gap hook. but i get more follows with this lure when i am fishing in overcast weather. but when the sun comes out, i cant get anything to chase this lure anymore.

jackall crosstail shads are by far the best dropshot bait in my tackle box.
