Cast and Destroy

I've started to lean toward the XCalibur XCS200. Most my waters have a lot of rock and these things can take a beating and deflect well. I'm satisfiied with the Tx3 hooks.

The Strike King KVD 1.5/2.5 have done well for me. My only problem is that I've had hooks break on me twice. After some hard fishing, these lures lose some eye-appeal with paint chipping and eyes falling off.

I've looked at the Luck E Strice RC series, but haven't felt the need to buy those over the XCaliburs.

I can't tell much difference between XCalibur and Lucky Craft SB either, except for the price and color selection. Next year, I'll have a handful of XCablibur SCS200's and handful of KVD Rattling 2.5's (with different hooks) to change it up and I'll be happy.

the strike king kvd 1.5/2.5 is my goto crankbait. it has great action and also cheaper than many other crankbait on the market.

Lucky Craft RC 1.5 is all you need. I've fished many different square bills and the RC 1.5 is worth the extra cash.

The Academy H2O's have been good for me.

yeah, the excalibur are good and the Rapala crankin, ones. Get a wide selection and use them. that will tell you have they feel with your combo and work in your enviroment. Good luck!!

Excaliber for sure. The SK KVD's are decent baits. Cabelas has an Excaliber look alike called the Pork Chop and I picked up a couple and was pleased with the quality overall, especially for the price. I still like the Bomber Balsa A but they are subject to breaking on rocks.

SK KVD's are high on my list but my all time favorite is the Spro Little John.

I don't deny that the RC series is one of the very best, but there is one exception: it doesn't fish well in timber. The bait has too much roll and yaw, it gets hung up so much more often than the other baits I fish. I love the bait for grass and rock, but not in wood. My favorite is the Spro Little John, as well I've done very well on the KVD 1.5 and more recently the 1.0. I also like the XCS series of baits.

My favorite square bill type crank is the Timber Tiger. I think the 1/2 ounce DC8 size is the most versatile, although I throw the DC4 and the DC16 quite a bit. (The DC16 isn't really a square bill type bait.)

Most of the time I'll throw a whitish, shad colored bait, in very clear water they make a very good blue gill imitator color. In very stained/muddy water I like to throw a chartruese/purple color.

I like the Strike King KVD Series 1. Only problem is that in one specific area on Rodman Resevoir, the Chain Pickerel love them. They engulf them and take them away. Lost two of them until I learned to not use that lure in that area or use a wire leader.

Love the kvd 1.5 in chartruese black back and a excalibur chartruese blue back. Always have to change the hooks on the kvd's tho cause like somestated earlier they break. I never had it break I just had them bend completely out

Luckycraft RC series are my favorite with the KVD a close second. Because the Lucky Craft RC series are going to be discontinued I generally try the Strike King first as they are easier to replace. I haven't tried the Xcalibur but just recieved the Ima squarebill. Threw the Ima for app 1/2 hour Sunday, didn't catch any fish but noticed that this little bait has more vibration than any small bait that I've thrown.

Either Xcalibur xcs200 or Rapala DT Fat3 .....Also I own a few Lucky Craft RC 2.5s, and they just dont cast well, my DT10s cast nearly twice as far and weigh the same.

Big M made me some Square Billed shallow divers. I fish them around docks and timber. I wont throw a different shallow diver.

Squarebills are about the only lipped crankbait I fish. I catch fish on Xcaliburs, KVD 1.5's, RC 1.5, Luck e strike RC 1.5's, H2O's, Bandit 100's, Strike King 4S, Storm short wart. My favorites are the LC RC 1.5, Xcaliburs, and H20 baits.

throwin some kvd 1.5s today

I am not a crankbait guy, but the 100 Bandits have caught some decent fish for me over the last few years. White or white/chart. seems to work best for me.

My personal preference are the XCalibur XCS'. They've held up to some abuse this season.

I do enough fishing with KVD 1.5, but not happy with the hook quality. It got all rusty after few outings, but I do catch fish on them. Going to try KVD 1.0 next year after the new product release, hopefully they have a better hook on those.

Bomber Square A in Oxbow Bream and the KVD 1.5 and 2.5 in either bluegill or chartreuse/black back.

I like the Bomber B and the Bandit 100s. The flat sided Rapalas with the coffin bill are another favorite.

Could of sworn they are already on sale at bps?

Aight, time to pick up a few.

Bombers and H20's. Bombers in either silver and black, chart, or purple. H20's in either tilapia, baby bass, red, or blue gill.
