I have fished with spinning reels all my life so being the brave guy i am i bought me a cheap baitcaster and i hate the thing. all my fishing buddies say if i get a good baitcaster i won't go back to spinning reels. so i'm asking you guys out there for the best baitcaster for the money. no gimmicks 8-) zimmy

The two main reasons that i found is the navonics is a lot more detailed as far as structures in the water and lake map details . if you do a lot of fishing on different lakes the navonics chip has more lakes on it . hot spots has only the bigger lakes on it. zimmy

just my 2 cents but i have fishing hot spots an navonics and i threw my hot spots card in the desk zimmy

the way i look at it is pro= paycheck amateur well not much money but i can catch a lot of fish all across the usa and it cost me the support in fun. i'm a professional salesman because thats what i get paid to do! doesn't matter if i work for the largest firm or for a company that has only 2 stores. same as fishing doesn't matter what or who as long as i am making my living from fishing. be it fishing small torneys across usa or fishing the flw. guides are hired to take customers to fish,therefore they are professional fisherman. people selling fishing tackle ;boats or anything else fishing related are salesman! just my 2 cents zimmy 8-)

minn kota is the only way , plus going with the remote operator on the fishing pole is the only way. i can stand anywere on my deck an run my trolling motor. my remote battery went dead up in minnesota and i thought i was back in the stone age using my foot pedal > as far as motor i have a 250 verado super charge and i love the motor. it is the smoothest running an quietest motor i have ever had. ps you can use the hot foot throttle on the verado because i haveit on mine. zimmy the other plus on the minn kota ,no cable 8-)

Hey Matt Nice to hear from you again, i would really like to come down there again, you''ll have to let me know once you guys decide the date and i will see if i can make it work. i know it is getting sort of depressive here in nothern indiana. lots of cold an snow i just picked up my newer bass boat and an really wanting to go try it out, but don't have my ice breaker for the front of the boat in yet ;D zimmy

lets just say my wife doesn't tell me how many pair of shoes in her closet and i don't tell how many rods an reels i have hidden in my boat and garage! zimmy

I just got me a new a copilot for my trolling motor and was wondering how you guys were liking them ? Is it best to use the rod holders, wrist band or belt clip? I haven't had a chance to try mine yet. If it would quit raining or snowing long enough i might have a chance :-[ zimmy

I'm telling ya muddy man if i had to chose one fish it would be the smallmouth. Pound for pound it is the best fish ,don't get me wrong i love LM bass fishing but SM are hard to beat. 8-) I can't wait till my first river tournement for those bronzebacks. zimmy

matt we were down there all weekend. friday was our first day fishing,it was a pretty decent day,caught a few fish nothing big :-/ water temps in the low 50's an air temps in upper 50's. we were using a lot of soft baits texas rigged didn't have a lot of luck. then we switched to crankbaits and caught some decent ones bouncing off stumps.we fished primarly in 8 to 25" of water.friday nite storms moved in dumped about 3" of rain, by sat morning it was thundering and lightining and we didn't get out till abot noon. i didn't like the idea of being a human lightining rod fished sat afternoon in the rain and didn't have any luck sunday was a great day but the fishing was slow caught a few . got a great sunburn though water temps rose to middle 50's by afernoon i was really disappointed that i had to leave without # 400 to my name :'( :' i guess i"ll just have to leave that one for you guys who live down there! we had a great time and hoping to come back again ;D i was simply amazed how many stumps were in that lake ! i know there are some great fish down there, it was just the wrong weekend to come down. zimmy
