Indiana Bass
Got a few on buzz baits this weekend. Also a few on plastics and crankbaits. The better ones came on cranks.

Powell Deisel 7.2 Medium Heavy
Love mine.
-
Spinnerbait Weight
I too use mostly 3/8 and 1/4 but I am seriously considering getting some bigger ones just for that reason.

Indiana Bass
I've been in KY for a week, so I can't comment, but if the water is that warm it should be on. They were pre-spawn and a few on beds two weeks ago.

Savannah Ga. For Bass
I don't remember where we put in to the river (maybe just over in to SC?) but it wasn't too brackish. Caught a few and lost a toad about a hundred yards from the ramp. Watch out for gators.

Basspro Rave
Nothing but good things to say here, either.

Savannah Ga. For Bass
The Savannah River is (or was) pretty decent as well.

I've Had It With Flourocarbon Line!
It's not my favorite, I'm not gonna lie. It can be very finicky about knots especially with the the lower pound test. I've had some P-Line 15 that I've had good luck with so far, but I'm not afraid to put XT on anything and throw it.

Lipless Crankbaits
I've used the smaller one's to pound white bass from time to time. Shad colored or chrome.

30+ Year Old Bantam
I had the newer generation black one. It's was one of the best reels I've ever owned. It' met it's end when a rod blew out of the boat going down the highway...

Favorite Square Bill?
Xcalibur XCS are my favorites and get about 75% of the use. The Luck E Strike Clunn's get the rest.
-
Best Length Dropshot Rod
I like the longer ones personally. I've always heard the shorter ones were made for fishing under the transducer for suspended fish.

Powell Diesel 705Cb Question
Yes. I have used it for 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 squarebills with no real issues. It wouldn't be my first choice to throw 1.0s with, but it will do it. As I look at it, there's a 100 series on it right now. I have a cheap 6 1/2' M moderate fast graphite I prefer for the smaller ones. I have also thrown up to a 6XD on it and haven't felt it was underpowered.

Snap For Jerk Baits And Crank Baits
I use them all the time on cranks and have for the last couple of years but not on jerk baits. I haven't had any issues out of the ordinary or noticed any difference in action. I don't throw extremely light weight cranks though. I do not use snaps on traps, however. I tend to use the smaller snaps that are 20lb on square bills though.

Caged Fish
Had this happen years ago on a slot limit lake we used to tournament fish when we first started out. The beer drinking good ole boys in the john boat kept bringing in 3-4 pound bass when everybody else struggled to get one or two overs. After taking the check 3 times in a row the word got out that they had a fish box hidden under some lily pads. They never came back.

Crank Rod Necessary?
I doubt you will be disappointed!

Crank Rod Necessary?
Yes. If mine broke, I'd have another one in the mail tomorrow. It's made enough money for me that it's more than paid for itself several times over.

Co-Angler Advice...advice For The Back Of The Boat
All excellent advice. As a team fisherman, I would add this, watch how they hit the cover as they move down a bank (if that's what you're doing) because I will guarantee you that there will be angles, pockets, areas and pieces of cover that they can't or don't hit. These are your goldmines. Also keep an eye on what's on the other side of the boat. I have several spots on one of the local lakes that I can usually pick up a few on the opposite side while he's beating the bank. In this particular situation I usually use a squarebill or a spinnerbait. The only time I'll throw slow plastic or drag bottom is if the front seater is doing something comparable otherwise you just get frustrated because they'll hit the motor before you have time to do anything with it.

Bass Pro Shops 6 Pay
I've used it twice and will use it again over the winter to get some new electronics.

How Many Rods Do You Carry
7-8 BC rods and 1 Spinning rod.

Fishing Seat Vs Butt Seat
Butt seats for now but a little arthritis in the middle of my back says we may be going to seats before long.

Do You Give Up On Lures
Yep. But I'll still haul them around for a while until I need some room and then I'll set them aside. I've got a few kids I give them to.

Circle Hooks
Last year I caught about 5 lbs worth of channel cat on a #8 circle hook. Right in the corner of the jaw where it's supposed to be. I use it a lot for dropshotting especially for my wife and granddaughters. Their hookup ratio is up about 90-95 percent. The hookup ratio for a youngster should be pretty darn good since all they have to do is reel up the slack. Have yet to have a gut hook or anything really deep in the mouth.

Check Your Local Walmart For Fishing Sales!
the handfull of rods they have in the non-ugly stick division are still regular price.

Vmc Spin Shots
No issues with them either. Palomar knot on top and IC on the bottom.
