g.loomis warranty! wen i have the cash i will send in my old rods for new ones 50 bucks a rod all worth while since it is a G.loomis and thanks to those that answered nicely.... i think my reels have been through over use and so much use and wear has depleted them of lasting... buy some decent cheap reels take care of it as well as my new G.loomis rods and i wil be set for another 10-20 years to come

i feel you man definately.... i use right hand for holding the rod as well since its my dominate hand i can power fish better and when i switched to baitcasters i baught a Quantum response baitcaster with the left hand retrieve model in your case id say buy a left had retriever or else keep fishing and you should become amberdexerous being able to use both left and right hand to fish with

mono has the be spooled on right since it has memory and wants to unwind in a certain direction braid is not like this idk why you have this problem but i have realized that my braid feels lighter than my mono and the are of same diameter. braid is a pain to untangle when backlashed and they dig into the spool very deep when im trying to break the line when im snagged keep looking and testing to try and figure out whats wrong

i had 2 reels break on trips and restored as in like replacing guides and new coats of finish from a rod builder. the line being frayed must be from the rocks from cliff fishing the line feels like its gone through sand paper.

on those long days of fishing how do you guys keep your reels and rods clean? i have had reels break because of long days of fishing. also what about fishing line? after a while of fishing my line has gone from clear to dirty brown and also has been frayed and weakened<---- i was fishing at a river cliff fishing and regular fishing in the brightness of the sun last sunday..... how do i clean my line and other equipment that was used? what to use and how to clean is another way to put it another thing to ask is if i should have my g.loomis rods restored. i seen on craigslist a guy posting his ad that he restores rods by removing the guides and such off stripping the hole entire rod and rebuilding it for 40 bucks for a g.loomis rod... mines have gone through a lot of wear and tear i have 2 spinning rods with the outside parts of the guides get the black coating scraped and chipped off and the epoxy coat finish whatever it is have little single air bubbles (very few) and some scrapes that the finish can be picked off plus all around hard use and very dirty cork handles plus one of the rods have a different tip top guide since the original one had a chip in the inside that cause the line to get frayed when reeling.

i remember taking a roostertail to the face... when your a kid watching the adults fish and when the adults snag they get mad frustrated and will yank the rod like hell! well what do you think i did when i was 5 and got my lure snagged! yanked as hard as i can and out came flying was a inline spinner roostertail thank god the hooks hit me in the face sideways 8-) i also remember having brain farts and forgetting to flip the bail before casting

like every fish that lives around currents and creeks (that's were most trout fishing is done) i learned they wait for food to drift down stream to them and a lot of people like me use power bait and worms so what i do is just tie a hook and bobber cast it upstream and let it drift down while following the bobber with my rod tip and reeling in any slack. the power bait balled up looks like fish eggs to trout and worms are just worms to them

i think this is a very good way to teach her... this is how i taught my bro my uncle and nephews cousins and other people its simple and easy

i have a pair of rond noses already but thanks anyways always good to hear from others That is the right tool. I can't fathom what is preventing you from wrapping the wire other than practice. As a rule of thumb, the lighter the gauge of the wire, the easy it will be to turn or wrap it. Try starting out with .024 or 0.31 wire. If you still have trouble or it hurts your fingers, you simply have sissified fingers that just need to toughened up just as those who learn to play guitar. ;D Seriously, it just takes time and practice. 8-) yea i know wat your saying but what do you think about using the wire from notebooks for the wire shaft for the inline spinners? good bad no difference? IMHO notebook wire would be far to bendable to make a good inline spinner. Think about it-- you would be re-straitening it every few casts. Also... how to plan on procuring enough wire for building? Buying notebooks on back to school sales and ripping out the wire? ;D ;D ;D Rookie, I'm with Mattin on this. If you are unable to buy the wire designed for making inline spinners, you can in a pinch, use the same wire that is used to hang pictures. That is what I used when I first wantedto "try" making inlines. Like the spiral notebook wire, it will be very flexy and malleable but they will work until you can get some of the correct wire. With this said, remember the adage the right tool or material for the job is always the ideal. I have landed 4 lb trout on that picture wire . haha yea i see well thanks everyone im still working on making the loops practicing with the notebook wires so thats a use they have lol

dang sucks man! try getting a nice long rope that is like 40 pounds in strength and tie a huge treble hook on the end and add some resonable weight fling the rope as far as you can past were you think the rod is and drag along the bottom and when you snag something try getting a better hook placement on it just like fishing when you think you have it dont rush you might lose it! this is how i got my small tackle box back when i was a kid and i droped my tackle box over the small brige.

Buying notebooks on back to school sales and ripping out the wire? ;D ;D ;D i just use the wire from old alomost empty notebooks from school and from people with empth notebooks i take it out and stand in front of a metal pole fence in my yard and hold both ends of the wire and start streching it and straightining it with the pole like if i was polishing someones shoe. gets nice and curled with no bends in the wire but it is bendy tho i will try some out on the water thats the one test i have not tried yet.

ohhhhhhh okay... would love to hook one of those tho as well they get huge! i always thaught those were the saltwater ones and cant live in freshwater

eggs dont hatch????????????? they must? back when i was little i went to a lake called fox lake almost every weekend catching whitebass all day!!! so many!!!!! after 2 years of going there the water became alge covered and fishing became terrible... on the St. Croix up northern MN at taylors falls there use to be so many whitebass! just dropping the lure in the water will land you one!!! now taylors falls is dead all bottom feeders now your lucky if you can land a whitebass or a few of them.... they moved south to oceola not too far away... over there is better for the whitebass fishing but im not sure if that will last but thats just weird if there eggs dont hatch!

when im out bass fishing and decide to do some crappie fishing but i forget my crappie stuff i just tie on a hook and bobber and get a clump of dirt or blades of grass and cast it out twitch it and i can land crappies all day! you can buy some small crappie jigs and bobbers for beginners and some small inline spinners, cranks, jigs and cast them out and reel them back like bass fishing (crappies will hit the lures if small enough to fit there mouths) i once had a bluegill ingulf my 8inch plastic worm when i was drop shotting for bass! just experiment and have fun! 8-) anything that sworms and wiggles on the ground can work for bait and like i said grass and dirt works for me! so basikly anything on a hook can catch crappie!

i fish up northernish MN on the St. Croix river around taylors falls and oceola MN side for whitebass. i dont think there hybrids since i think they do spawn and the rivers not stocked. anyways i do not see many people fish for them. they are a blast! they will ingulf my inline spinners and small paddle tail swimbaits pluse some 3 inch tubes! im some of the very few who fishes them and eat them (there delish!) well anybody here fishes them??? if so what do you use and how do you cook them? added note: does the baro and such effect whitebass like it does to LMB and SMB? most of my whitebass fishing has been done out of days of not a serious fishing but more of having fun fishing with friends i never really have paid attention to the conditions when fishing for whitebass

lol nice fertilizer eh... i honestly think carp should be caught and killed just because they have had a bad impact on the waters were they were introduced to in other countries they are okay because thats were they originated and there eco systems over there can handle carps but not our US waters..... hmm maybe i could use some fertilizer 8-)

thanks for all the advice i just wanted ideas of doing it right like countering there every move and i hate losing lures because im not made of money a few years ago when i was 13-14 rooster tails were 80 cents for a all around good bass size rooster tail now im 17 and a small panfish rooster tail is $2.50! plus i want to start using lighter line so i can play a fish out more and have fun catching them rather than just catching and reeling them in with 30lb braid on a baitcaster setup.
