Absolutely CRUSHED my old PB!
This fish boost was a true blessing to me... lately my life hasn't been going well, 90% of it self induced. Between trying to rebuild a destroyed marriage, figuring out why I make stupid decisions, moving 1/2 way across the country, finding out I need major oral surgery THEN adding to it a deployment, I have been feeling sorry for myself not to mention seriously depressed and I have been doing a whole lot of soul searching and when I fish I am alone and able to do it. I am in the process of making a complete 180 degree u-turn on my life... I just hope it isn't too late for me... I have begun attending church and I have another friend here that I turn to for spiritual guidance as he had issues in his past and thru him I see that you can make a complete change in your life... ok I am rambling... thanks for all the kind words... this just shows me that with prayer and hard work I will be the man I NEED to be... I am just glad I have a support system I need... and an occasional fish to justify the cost off all my equipment AL

Day Light Savins
Be nice, guys. Seriously, I'm kind of stoked about it starting three weeks early. It will give me some 15 hours of extra "after work" pre-spawn bass fishing. OH YEAH.... another hour of fishing after work!!! I can't wait!!!! AL

Georgia fishing 17 Feb 07
with all the training goin here all the ponds are closed so believe it or not... there is a prison "complex" about 20 miles to the west of the Installation and we went there... checked in got a pass and that gave us a "pass" to go to any of the 20 some ponds EXCEPT the Wardens pond hahaha... With the pace of my training in preparing for my deployment I am taking a chance to go fishing EVERY chance I can... I won't be fishing much in the desert AL

Gamma or Gamma Edge?
yes it was my first spool... I could have gotten a bad spool... and your probably right its now a confidence thing... two personal bests lost in less than 2 weeks because of line breaks... *gulp* ... once was me thinking it was bad luck... then today my line broke 4 times... and only once did I think to myself I put enough pressure on the line to cause the break... no biggie... its all part of the quest for the perfect set up. Georgia fishing 17 Feb 07
got out fishing today and landed 10! I had Gamma 12lb on my Curado 100... I hooked what WOULD have been my personal best had the line NOT BROKE AT THE SHORE! :'( That is the second time I had broke off on a 6+ pound fish in less than a week... so GAMMA is OUT!!! going to try something else... the guy I fish with swears by Stren so I will pick up a spool to see how it works for me... I know it works for him... I saw him winch a 6 pounder out today like it was a dink! here are some pictures, I am not sure how big they are, I lost my scale running for my car last week running to my car in a thunderstorm : also somehow my camera got put into black and white mode and I didn't figure it out till tonight

Michael Waltrip's a CHEAT!!
In my opinion he is doing what a good leader should do... he is taking responsibility for the actions of his subordinates and his own... do I think he had anything to do with it? no... but his is doing what a good leader SHOULD do... accepting responsibility... just my .02 cents worth.. AL

My introduction to Georgia Fishing
Went to my neighbors house... this was on his wall that was the first time I saw any bass that big... The guy that caught this is taking me under his wing since he is retiring from the Army and he is being good enough to show me his hot spots... here is at one of the lakes I go to... talk about making you watch where you walk! this coming up next three weeks is going to be something else! I just hope with my work schedule I can get out there and break my own personal best of 5 1/2 pounds soon! this is my first Georgia Bass here a a couple more AL wow I must have been tired when I typed this.. *shaking head* I edited it to sound more intelligent....

what reel for this new rod?
the reason I said you only had those reels to pick from is because those are reels I already own. I do agree the Citica isn't nearly as smooth as a Curado... BUT they fit a niche in my armory... I like to use them for swim jigs and other vertical presentations... Besides I don't have the budget to where ALL my reels cost $200 or more... keeps the wife happy THINKING I am keeping my fishing addiction in check hahahhaha AL

A company that REALLY doesn't support Soldiers
OH I am not mad... far from it...believe me I get "lectured" all the time over how this war is wrong yada yada yada... as IF I can do anything about it... I was just driving the point home that while some companies choose not support soldiers by their "policy" here was a company that not only crossed the line but jumped over it... just like everyone you are who you work for IE: this guy that posted that response on the website was literally speaking for the company... just like if I were to come out and just say someone off the wall I am looked at as a "soldier" not as AL so yes LBH sometimes UPS IS the Devil hahahhahaha In a world where there IS a lot of ill feelings against our Muslim brothers and sisters I feel that when things like this happen it just causes that much more ill feeling... its sad and of that there is no doubt AL

A company that REALLY doesn't support Soldiers
Sorry, here is a cut and paste of the story: An American GI assigned to one of the harshest posts in Iraq had a simple request last week for a Wisconsin mattress company: send some floor mats to help ease the hardship of sleeping on the cold, bug-infested ground. What he got, instead, was a swift kick from the company's Web site, which not only refused the request but added insult to injury with the admonition, "If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq." Army Sgt. Jason Hess, stationed in Taji, Iraq, with the 1st Cavalry Division, said he emailed his request to Discount-mats.com because he and his fellow soldiers sleep on the cold ground, which contains sand mites, sand flies and other disease carriers. In his email, dated Jan. 16, 2007, he asked the Web-based company, registered to Faisal Khetani, an American Muslim of Pakistani descent: "Do you ship to APO (military) addresses? I'm in the 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Iraq and we are trying to order some mats but we are looking for ships to APO first." On the same day, Hess received this reply: "SGT Hess, We do not ship to APO addresses, and even if we did, we would NEVER ship to Iraq. If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq. Bargain Suppliers Discount-Mats.com" Khetani on Monday told FOX News that the person responsible for the email reply had been fired. The Web site, meanwhile, has been temporarily taken down. Hess emailed that he has since found two mat suppliers willing to ship to an APO address in Iraq. FOX News' Douglas Kennedy contributed to this story.
