  1. I was reading some of Mike Long stuff online, and just got fired up. He knows how to explain swimbait fishing. I am pumped! Living in the south I am blessed with some hogs, and can't wait to hang one on a big swimbait. I've fished the Spro BBZ Shad with great success, but I've never thrown anything bigger.
  2. hahahaha, no hollow bellies. Mainly Hudds, missions 3:16's and optimum swimbaits. (those are the one I ordered). I dont think I'll be throwing anything over 6'' long. Not now atleast..
  3. Ok guys, I am finally breaking down and buying a dedicated swimbait set up. I just purchased a Shimano Cardiff 300, and now all I need is a rod. I want to keep it below 160 bucks if possible, but I can go over that if necessary. I am mainly going to be using 6'' soft body swimbaits, I don't think I"ll be launching anything bigger than that. What do you guys like for swimbaits rods around this price range? What action do ya'll prefer? Thanks guys!!
  4. For me, its the best time to catch GIANTS!!! I might not catch a whole bunch, but the ones I do bag are solid keepers.
  5. Its my go to C-rig soft plastic. The rooster is deadly!!!
  6. Albright, or uni to uni are the two best knots when tying a leader material.
  7. I am so happy to see my native people fishing Lobinas in Puerto Rico! Great pictures, and good luck.
  8. I have nothing but great things to say about the Lew's Speed Spool. I've been fishing everything from spinnerbaits to 2oz swimbaits with out any problems what so ever. They cast a mile, and are easy on the wallet!!!!!
  9. That's a sick vid man!! Great job.

Hung a good one yesterday afternoon. Left the boat at the house and went from the bank, pink fluke was the weapon of choice and caught a ton of short fish. This was the only one photo worthy, she was released to fight another day. I guess her weight was around 4lbs. I did learn something while fishing from the bank, I fish way to fast from my boat and I have to slow down!!!!. I mainly targeted coves and a small creek channel. Gun in the pic was the only thing I had to compare size besides a hand full of lures and a bottle of water.
  13. Thanks guys, I am going to buy some 20lb AbraX and give it a try.
  14. That makes a lot of sense, I've never thought of it that way. Thanks for the link guys!
  15. I am a little confused, I have been testing 17lb Vicious Fluorocarbon tied to my braid leader, and it keeps breaking at the knot. The line is breaking consistently at 10-13lb mark. My method is crude, but fairly accurate when I've tested other lines. Knots I've tied include: uni-knot, palomar, trilene knot, and the double uni knot. I tested my go to line, Yozuri Hybrid in 15lb which I throw jigs, big worms, and carolina rigs on this line, and it broke at way above the rated weight. So I guess my question is, if the line states 17lbs, shouldn't break around that number? I've read reviews on Vicious Fluorocarbon and its like everything else, some people love the stuff, and other hate it. What's ya'll opinion? What you guys think of Vicious Fluorocarbon? I am only going to throw jigs, and big worms on this set up. I've had great success with Yozuri line, I just want to see whats all the fuss about fluorocarbon. If you guys have better knots in mind, let me know what they are. Thanks
  16. What are the odds of that!

I shoot 3 times every month. Being prior service, I like to keep an edge. I use to keep 1,000 rounds per caliber, but with ammo going up the way it is, I stoped buying it. My stock pile is still looking good. With some trades I've done recently, I am down to 6 calibers. .40S&W, .45ACP, 9MM, .308, .380ACP, and 7.62x39.
  22. .308 and 7MM-08 will kill anything North America has to offer. .308 being my favorite.
  23. How do ya'll keep up with the numbers? Thats crazy, I've had great numbers days, but I cannot recall the amount.
  24. What a beast!!!
  25. Congrats on a great catch!
