  1. Use one of those disposable razor knifes that you can break pieces off as they get dull. They are flexible and and sharp. If the tip gets dull you can snap it off and have a fresh tip. The tip is really the most important when filleting fish with a rib cage you need to cut around.
  2. It should be pretty hard to backlash actually with all the pins on. It has to be your form when you cast. Also a 3/4 jig is pretty heavy and should be able to keep pulling line out.
  3. The BB rigs work but can tear up a bait pretty good. Once it gets torn it can be tuff to keep the hook positioned correctly. Your better off citing a slot in the top and gluing a rare earth magnet in there to hold the hook. You should probably cut open new hudds anyways to glue the harness to the body so it doesn't pull out. It can be a huge issue and no one like getting a hit and only bringing in half a bait.
  4. I am not really sure if it's possible for a place to have to many bluegill. That is what the bass are eating so the more food the better. I know it is possible to have to many bass though and the will need to be thinned out t make room.
  5. I have had these for like 3 or 4 years and are still going strong. They have good clarity and I like them better then the strike kings. I have like a dozen or more pairs but these are my favorite for whatever reason. I think they were like $15-20 from walmart
  6. It's totally fine to do and won't do anything to you crank or piece of plastic. It's super common for people to pool test big swimbaits and almost mandatory when your trying to tune a glide. Some of those cost 10-20x what your crank might and they are perfectly fine. There is no need to worry.
  7. It could just be that the lake blows. There is a few park lakes I go to that get hardly any pressure and it is 90% live bait when it is and they suck. Its rare I ever see someone fishing while I am there. It's mostly people hiking or walking their dogs. Then there are some places I almost alwas see people and they actually use a variety of lure and not just bait. They are way better then the aformentioned places. It does seem though the super though places were bites are few and far between seem to land me big bites. I catch some nice fish out of them but it's a grind.
  8. Are you kidding? Is that really a problem for people? I mean I don't have like 20 combos I use but even so it's not that difficult to know what is on each one. Maybe if everyone had the same rod and reel it might get confusing. I mean if that is a problem for some people they might have Alzheimer's or need to sell off a few reels
  9. A $.99 black and blue jig with a black and blue flake rage craw.
  10. Livetarget buegill vibration trap all day. I can't believe how many people say red eye shads.
  11. That would be my choice for sure. Lots of the reels people are mentioning you wont get for $150 unless its used anyways. If I was going to go and buy a new reel like a cardiff I would just spend the little extra and buy a c4. That is if you cant find a used reel for a good price.
  12. Well that's one thing canada has going for it I don't see location on peoples posts if I am on my phone using the mobile version. I need to get a canadian mailing address or something so I can play for $ or use some kinda of advanced proxy so I have a canadian ip address
  13. Wait a minute.... Can you play for actual money again in the US on pokerstars? Or did you just mean that you play poker? I wish I could play online again. It was convient to make money as opposed to going downtown the casino. Even thought it's basically guaranteed to double up or better I just don't want to deal with it sometimes.
  14. It adds more drag and keeps th hooks tucked up under them.
  15. Siege is also a good mono. There are a handful of them that are all pretty similar. They are usually the ones that run thicker then usual like Big Game Siege Trilene XL/XT ect.
  16. A glass rod will work alright for spooks or poppers as I don't think they require that fast of a snap back in the tip to work. Jerkbaits are a bit of a different story but it's doable.
  17. I am also not one for dropping a good chunk on a UL rod. Line is so light and is the rod it's doesn't take much for it to be fairly sensitive. I just went Friday with my brother and he bought a new UL rod since his got into a fight with a car door and lost. He ended up getting a Eagle GT and it's pretty nice and not overly expensive. It's just a little short for my taste at 5'5" A UL reel is somewhat of a different story though. You have to make sure you have a smooth drag and that reel will be peeling drag more then any other reel you own.
  18. Triple Trouts, 175's, and S-Songs. Lots of big fish lately. Been doing big work on Erie large mouths. The eyes like them too.
  19. That pic looks like a cracked guide without a doubt. Something is weig with a insert if you ask me.
  20. For scissors the kids Fiskars work perfectly. It has to be the titanium ones though. I usually use my shimano split ring pliers thoigh. The KVD ones cut pretty good also.
  21. Have you considered he secretly wants to be a big swimbaiter Maybe he is a undercover swimbaiter and it's hard to break the habit. I don't ski 5#ers but I sure will drop my tip in the water and crank like my life depends on it.
  22. I just got back from fishing and one decent tackle bag is all you need. If I couldn't catch fish with what I fit in my bag it's not because I don't have the right lure. I probably just suck lol. Once upon a time plastics fit in the lid. The plastic eventually ripped because it couldn't contain all my awesomeness I crammed in there so I don't put stuff in there any more.
  23. Ohio
  24. There isn't a place I don't fish them. I will throw a swimbait in a puddle if I think it has decent fish in it.
