  1. Thanks for your opinions and suggestions guys! that was my first post and i feel so welcomed! But i think i've got it narrowed down to the st.croix rods, mainly because bass pro doesn't carry Powells or Dobyns (and im paranoyed about ordering online, i only buy in store) i could probably get : ~2-3 Triumphs ~1 mojo (which ive noticed doesn't have cork in front of the reel seat) ~1 Premier ~ or JUST ENOUGH for 1 Avid. which looks really nice.. Are there day and night differences between the poles? What is there build quality depending on where there manufactured? have you had problems with a certain one? Please tell me your opinion!!! thanx!
  2. Ahh very good choices my friend! I would go with the fiberglass pole IMO, unless you fish with monofilament then definitely go graphite! 8-)
  3. chances are that spongebob reel is porbably made by shakespeare nahh, Zebco my friend haha
  4. im 15 and have no job i buy ill my tackle on a $20 weekly allowance maybe a little more sometimes so im in the same boat i owuld get 2-3 mid range rods you get some good ones for around $100 one is the lamiglas excel which im gonna order pretty soon probly tomorrow for $110 i have heard they are good rods ha i wish i got an allowance
  5. i personaly think the ugly stick line is pretty good for the weekend angler, but i would prefer a SpongeBob Squarepants reel over the Shakespeares.
  6. So if you had to choose one pole between : St.Croix Avid, Shimano Crucial, Dobyns Saavy, Powell Max, Shimano Compre, And the St.Croix Mojo bass what would it be?.. keep in mind i LOVE lifetime warranties and Fuji furnishings!
  7. i mainly use trilene 100% fluorocarbon and fireline mainly because wally world is really close and i cant afford to drive to BPS or Gander Mt every time i need to respool, But i'd like to hear about P-line? is it god, good, or crap. And i've noticed alot of people like Power pro for braid. I've never used it but can you tell me why its so common and loved?
  8. I love braid and fluorocarbon, but whats the best ? what do you guys depend on to bring home the biggun's?!
  9. thanks for the advice!! but the reason i prefer alot of rods for alot of techniques is because i hate tying on new rigs! i would much rather prefer just picking up a different rod and casting rather than fumbling around with a new lure.
  10. i just loked at the crucial and citica. im a little concerned with the citica, mainly because of the price for only 4 bearing? are they extremely high quality German bearings or something?
  11. I mainly do alot of shore fishing but when i do i bring a plethora of poles ( usually one pole i'll use for two techniques.) BUT i also go out on the boat alot. I usually shore fish on lakes because rivers are hard to find in my area. i have about 6 lightning rods; but im looking to step them up little by little. The places i fish varie from VERY VERY weedy, to completely scraped clean, to tree stumps every where. so i prefer to steadily gain technique specific poles! ;D
  12. hey guys! basically im 14 and cant currently get a job but im in love with fishing and ive been for about 6 years. I've mainly always had lightning rods and other "High Class Wally World" poles. My birthday is coming up in about a month and wil most definately spend ALL OF IT on fishing. probably around $200 all together. But what i want to know is, should i get 2 Mid priced poles (ie: mojo bass, carbonlite, falcon lowrider ) or should i just get one really nice pole. ( Please give me some suggestions. I want baitcasters because i cant stand spinning reels. Can you guys help me out? Also maybe some reel suggestions to go with it ?
