  1. There is somewhat of a resemblance of Pflueger in BPS reels, But i still really think they look like the Revo STX. Or maybe my theory, they have different companies produce different models. Maybe? :-?
  2. It may be that the bass are territorial and you'll have to trigger a reaction strike; what i would do is throw out a football jig ( Colors close to Bluegill ) and just hop it right in front of his nose. If he doesnt strike, try other lures but fish them AS SLOW AS POSSIBLE. And if THAT doesnt work, its definately a zombie fish
  3. True, But thats more proof for me my thougths are realistic! ;D
  4. There is so many things it could be!!! Now i really wonder what factory it comes out of.
  5. You'll probably notice patterns in your fishing days that, well, may be Superstitious
  6. While i am a HUGE ZOOM! fan, YUM makes a close second with Yamamoto 3rd and Powerbait 4th!
  7. The BPS PQ looks almost identical to the Abu Garcia Revo STX; both internally and externally. Are there any other major differences between the two? (Except for the price tags and free pair of WileyX's with the Abu 8-))
  8. Do any of you have any other fishing superstitions that you believe in?, or am I the only one. I actually have two. MOJO/JOOJOO : I belive that it we have good JOOJOO on that day, before we go fishing, we catch a lot of fish; and my results errily back it up. But if you have bad JOOJOO/MOJO, you have a bleak and subpar day on the water, catching maybe 1, 2, or 3 fish. Examples: Good JOOJOO: You order a small Biscuit breakfast at McDonalds, When you get your meal through the drive through window, you receive a large drink and 2 sandwiches. Yumm LOL Bad JOOJOO: You order a Medium #2 (whatever that is,) and when you get your food and drink through drive through, you spill your drink all over you and your food is cold and sucks. I also believe in the first cast curse; when you catch a fish on your first cast; you never catch a fish again at that body of water, which my and my fathers results eerily back up also. Do you have any? ;D
  9. punch through the weeds with a heavy jig ;D
  10. Power Pro has been great and will continue to be great for years, the only difference is probably a slightly slightly newer color or something really small so that PP can throw a "NEW and improved" sticker on it. Its Just Marketing. 8-)
  11. Good to know!! ;D I was thinking about getting one but some people said the guides were falling out, werent holding up to braid, etc etc. But i guess people are always saying that about guides.
  12. have any of you had problems with the guides? ive been hearing that they arent so great. is that true?
  13. I used to have this same problem! One day i wanted to go fishing with my old man , but i needed line. And my dad honestly doesnt care about line quality, he just wants to buy the cheapest, and he knew i wanted some fluoro. So guess what he got me,..... Berkley Vanish in 8# It would be accurate to say i wasnt a happy fisher. But i had to use it if i wanted to fish. have to take a chance right?. Should have stayed home. I would backlash tremendously. And while i lost some lures do to the spool suddenly stopping . there was a problem rising right under my nose. When i was backlashing; line deep in the backlash was getting ripped in half. Yikes! And then on a random cast, my spinnerbait went bye bye with about 40 yds or line. Sucked. lost about 3 spinners and 2 jigs. But if there is a bright side to this story today i was deep cranking and pulled up both my lost jigs, 1 spinner and 5 good sized largemouths !!! ;D (of course my mom bought me some 50# PP first )
  14. it is shown in statistics that most people can cast mono or flouro farther than braid and longs cast are needed for deep cranking and also braid is horrible for cranking because when retrieved it wont sit on the spool right Ive never experienced any of those problems, i can cast just as far and it sits perfectly on my spool. :-?
  15. I would actually say go with braid and a mono/fluoro leader. I say this because braid is so thin per its strength it will get deeper and no strength makes it more sensitive, while the mono leader gives it a little stretch for treble hooks, and a little less visible.
  16. If you have ever read the little booklet that comes with Power Pro braid, it mentions this problem specifically. Basically every once in a while push on your reel, if it feels slightly squishee, make an extra long cast and when you reel in, put tension on it with your fingers. it helps for me! ;D
  17. Be careful when you buy line there though, especially if you live in an area where fishing is not common, because i once picked up a spool of PP 30# and when i spooled up all the coloring came off (not just some, all) I later looked at the box and it had a date from 06. Been sitting around for 4 years. But usually they well let you exchange it which is nice ;D
  18. Well they make a 6'8" MXF Mojo Bass for a cool $100 8-) and its only 3.9 ounces!!! ;D that is if you can get over having a split grip.
  19. I wouldnt see a problem with you using that rod for moving baits, (ex: spinnerbaits, cranks, frogs, topwater) But for texas rigs(where you have to rip the hook through the plastic) you probably want a fast action. But for most of your moving baits id say go for it 8-)
  20. Is it really worth 30-40 dollars for 150 meters of fluorocarbon? There Mono is moderately priced at $10 but is their fluoro the "Perfect Fluoro"?
  21. Look at the Abu Revo Lineup, they are quite comfortable and they are workhorses! ;D
  22. Are they essentially the same reel? I know there is a difference in weight and of coure color. but is there any reel differences ? (pun intended) Pros and cons of each?
  23. are you spooling from baitcaster to baitcaster or spin to spin or bait to spin?
  24. Sorry if i made them sound bad! I was just trying to say the only ones i have actually seen in two piece are at wall mart. Im not trying to Put 2 pieces down because they definitely have their place. If i had a car and could drive would most definately have a 2 piece ugly stick in the back (:
