  1. Thank you MBM, it usually takes about three posts before context gets completely lost on a topic. Thanks for picking it back up. Thats what I was talking about, not personal preference. Sheesh!!! Hootie
  2. Get em LMG, fish the best, to hell with the rest. lol Hootie
  3. Thats right LMG, stay out! lol. By the way, lovin my little 50E. A little noisy on the retrieve compared to my Lews, but I figure that will deminish as it gets broken in. Hootie
  4. Do that in my Smartcar and I'll be impressed. Hootie
  5. The length behind the reel seat isn't an issue, it's the length behind the car seat. HAHA! Hootie
  6. I know I am not the only one who prefers a shorter rod, 6 to 6 1/2 footers. And for various reasons, transport problems, (biggest that will fit my car), fishing in smaller boats, (don't want to slap my partner in the face with my backswing), and, I simply like fishing shorter rods. Guess part of that is a holdover from when a 5 1/2 ft rod was the norm. Now I have noticed 6 1/2 footers are getting left out of the newer versions. I have seen a lot of new rods I would be interested in, but the shortest available is 6'8''. Sorry cant use it. Looks like us short rod guys are being weeded out of the market. Oh well, as Bob Dylan sang, ''The times, they are a changing''. Guess I am kinda giving away my age with that one, huh. Hootie
  7. X2, my favorite also. Hootie
  8. Sure you don't mind? Hootie
  9. Don't think so Al. lol Hootie
  10. I think I'll go with LMG's description. He appears much more knowledgeable on the subject of Shimano. No offense intended. Hootie
  11. I have the Savvy series, and really like them a lot. In fact I have 4 of them. Hootie
  12. I have both rods, and they are both awesome. BUT, my favorites are the Dobyns rods. Hootie
  13. Great photo, makes me wish I was fishing right now, instead of sitting here in the Doctors waiting room. Hootie
  14. I have been considering mounting mine on the 2 Duckett Micro Magics I already have, but I just can't seem to break away from my Dobyns rods. I gotta say, though, they sure would look great, white reel on a white rod. hmmm. Hootie
  15. Thats my buddy. You tell em guy. I doubt anyone on here knows more about Shimano than LMG. Maybe DVT, but thats about it. Hootie
  16. Being named Bill Gates wouldn't be enough for me. I would have to be THE Bill Gates. The Microsoft original, THE ONE AND ONLY!! Hootie
  17. I have both, and honestly, I would hate to have to give either up. I personally think the Lews is a lot smoother, but we know the Chronarch is proven. Both great reels. Hootie Chime in LMG
  18. Too expensive. Besides, I can find out just about anything I need to know, right here. Hootie
  19. X2, Until I went to higher end rods, the tourney specials were all I used. Great rods for the price. Hootie
  20. This wasn't a topic, this was a party. Love it!!! Hootie

Thanks J Francho, thats just what I wanted to hear. Got a bunch of em, but the lake where I fish has a lot of wood, but very few rocks. Hootie

Now that I have your attention, I would like to know, does anybody use football jigs anywhere besides rocks? How about wood, or just any old shoreline? Hootie
  23. Have been popping my snags free since my first graphite rod. Over 35 yrs. Never broke one yet.
