Damage from tournaments
I’ve advocated for something like this for years. At a BFL directors meeting it was at least listened too, but was assured it would not be a viable option. That was a few years ago but we’ve learned so much since, that hopefully it or something close will become reality. On the Bass Nation side there is more “sympathy” for change but who knows, maybe some day. I only hope that at some point all local and regional “5 bag limit weigh in”tournaments will adopt the MLF model. Mike

Damage from tournaments
Short answer to OP, and ”Make sight fishing illegal”....Absolutely Not! I could comment a lot more on both subjects but it won’t come out right. Mike

Black or green braid?
Some guys I know use Seaguars Black Flipping Braid. I hear it’s a good product, but personally I’ve never felt the need to change from the original green Power Pro. If I ever decide to change braid brands, it certainly wouldn’t be because of it’s color. Mike

Best conditions for white colors?
I’ll throw a white moving bait as part of my rotation to zero in on a pattern regardless of conditions. I have no hard and fast rules. If there’s no shad I let the water clarity and color determine what to start with and add white as one of my last choices. If there is shad, I always start with white/chartreuse. Also, for sight fishing on beds white is my color of choice. Mike

What are your top three fluorocarbon lines and the worst?
Shooter has more abrasion resistance. I use it for heavier bottom contact presentations and some punching. It’s larger diameter especially on a rod with micro guides gives me the greatest amount of sensitivity of any line especially with a slack line. I only use 20#. Sniper is more supple. It lays flatter and great for smaller bottom contact presentations in moderate to light cover and all moving bait presentations. I use 12#, 14# and 16# depending on how, what and where I’m throwing. Best braided line
I use Original Power Pro. It’s certainly not the smoothest, but for what I use braid for it’s what I want/need Mike

What are your top three fluorocarbon lines and the worst?
I’ve tried Sniper, Shooter and InvisX. Now I only use Sniper and Shooter exclusively. Mike

What angle do you like your topwaters when not moving?
For poppers I like them to lay tail down. I want the feathered hook underwater at each pause. Horizontal for walking baits and pointed away from me at a 90 deg angle. Mike

One Shimano baitcaster you have to have...and why?
I’ve said this for years on here. To me the best reel Shimano or anyone else ever made is the Curado E200. Granted, it doesn’t have all the new technology or the lightest of materials available, but as a reliable workhorse reel that you can throw anything on, nothing is better. If I wanted a new currently available model regardless of brand, the Curado K would be it. Mike

More bad news
Hopefully he’ll have full range of motion when it heals and possibly stronger than it was. Best of luck to him Mike

Curado K HG uses
All that and anything else in my bag. Excellent reel Mike

What is this C-Map symbol?
Thats what I would take it to mean also. Seeing that it has a hard boundary line, I’d lean more toward an extremely shallow marsh. Mike
