  2. Yeah Buddy!!! Mike
  3. Considering the lakes I fish, it is very seldom that I throw a crankbait. And if I did it would depend on structure and then it would be a small sq bill. However, I would have to cycle through the entire bag first. I mostly throw spinnerbaits through scattered visible vegetation or over the top of submerged hydrilla and then only after not getting bit on other moving baits. Mike

Hello and Welcome! Ive been going to the Bears training camp for the past few years and will probably go this year also. If you guys are around let me know. Mike
  13. You guys make my head hurt sometimes. ? I dont get why you have to know exactly to the yard how much line to spool. I know how deep my spool is, I know what the reel and line is going to be used for, so what is so wrong with just eyeballing it and calling it good? If I'm spooling my punch or flipping reel I put 3/4 backing on a shallow spooled reel and calling it good. If it's on my casting reel I put 1/4 backing and call it good. I don't like to waste line either but I'll be respolling long before the numbers say I should anyway. Would I have put too much or not enough on sometimes? At the beginning sure, but after a while it's dialed in and my head won't hurt doing all the math and from worrying about it. But that's me Mike

    Hello and Welcome Mike
  15. You can flip with any baitcasting reel regardless of manufacturer or price point. Since the reel is engaged throughout the process, a quality drag is more critical. I dont have that reel but I'm sure you're good. Mike
  16. No But if while casting I get snagged and had to work to get it back, or dragging a C Rig over rock, or casting through wood I'll cut and retire much more often if I get a fish or not. As far as after each fish caught Ill do it only if needed after checking the line. Mike
  17. Sounds like you had a great time, caught fish, learned and taught a few things along the way. Other than not cashing I'd say it was a beneficial trip for all. At least for me it would be. Mike
  18. Trokar TK130. Size depends on what I'm throwing. Mike
