If you mean 1/4 oz soft hollow body swim baits, I use 30lb braid in the shallow grassy lakes of Central and So Florida. And wouldn't change. If you mean those big, 3 treble, wooden/plastic suckers sorry I can't help you. Mike

As WRB said, fishing in Florida's natural soup bowl waters, deep isn't very deep compared to almost every other area of our countty. Mostly when we talk deep it refers to a gradual change that can best be described as a depression..but we get excited and say "Hey we just ran over a hole! Hurry up and turn around! A 2ft change in 8ft of water is a lot. To fish those, you don't have to change a thing. Sometimes they'll hold fish, sometimes they don't. I look for clearer water, laydowns, pads, mixture of different vegetation, defined cover lines, matts etc. "Holes" by definition don't mean much down here, and I've been fishing Central and So Florida Lakes, Rivers and canals for 36 yrs....but that's me Mike

For those of us who bring bags... Regarless of the style of bag you have, top or side loading, get the boxes with the horizontal or vertical dividers. They will lay flat and not bunch up on the end of the divider. Mike

That's what I do also. Ideally I would leave them in thier original package if I owned a boat and sift through them, but as a co angler I have to bring what I need. I have mine labeled and separated by.. Stick, Swim, Frogs, Jig/trailers, Creature... Mike

30# braid and you're set. Can't speak to useing a leader as I don't use one on a casting rod. Mike

Phenix X11 is a commposite 7' 1/2oz to 3oz. Fishes much lighter. I use it with a JM Sig reel spooled with 12lb Yo Zuri and wouldn't change a thing. Mike
