  1. If you mean 1/4 oz soft hollow body swim baits, I use 30lb braid in the shallow grassy lakes of Central and So Florida. And wouldn't change. If you mean those big, 3 treble, wooden/plastic suckers sorry I can't help you. Mike
  2. My Dad retired from Ford, so you know we allways had one. Also, my motorhome has a Ford chassis and the 6.8 litre V10. Welcome, Dad would be proud Mike
  3. I've never seen or heard of any creature that swims, borrows, hops, skips or jumps in any depth, color or temperature of water anywhere on the planet that it's natural color is hot pink, bubblegum or sparkly iridescent. But hey, that's just me. Me
  4. We all buy what we like at the price point we can afford, regardless of what it is. In this case best is in the eye of the beholder. Someone once said "You get what you pay for" Mike
  5. As WRB said, fishing in Florida's natural soup bowl waters, deep isn't very deep compared to almost every other area of our countty. Mostly when we talk deep it refers to a gradual change that can best be described as a depression..but we get excited and say "Hey we just ran over a hole! Hurry up and turn around! A 2ft change in 8ft of water is a lot. To fish those, you don't have to change a thing. Sometimes they'll hold fish, sometimes they don't. I look for clearer water, laydowns, pads, mixture of different vegetation, defined cover lines, matts etc. "Holes" by definition don't mean much down here, and I've been fishing Central and So Florida Lakes, Rivers and canals for 36 yrs....but that's me Mike
  6. This pretty much says it for me also. Balance, comfort and function is at the top of the list. Looks don't matter Mike
  7. For those of us who bring bags... Regarless of the style of bag you have, top or side loading, get the boxes with the horizontal or vertical dividers. They will lay flat and not bunch up on the end of the divider. Mike
  8. There Ya Go... Not much to say after this Mike
  9. 10 to 14lb Yo Zuri depending on weight. Mike
  10. Don't be afraid to try that 8lb on a lightweight baitcaster for light moving baits (small cranks and light jerks) You may like that also. Mike
  11. Looking for a guaranteed boater for the tournament on the 18th. I'm registered and paid. Please pm Thanks Mike
  12. That's what I do also. Ideally I would leave them in thier original package if I owned a boat and sift through them, but as a co angler I have to bring what I need. I have mine labeled and separated by.. Stick, Swim, Frogs, Jig/trailers, Creature... Mike
  13. 30# braid and you're set. Can't speak to useing a leader as I don't use one on a casting rod. Mike
  14. Leave the tab on...just disconnect it from the rudder. You can thank me later. Mike
  15. You guy's crack me up... OP Really any time of the year you can get bit on really any size plastic you want to throw. It's just that the prevailing thought is warmer and shallower water is better anywhere in the country. Mike
  16. I don't know.. There is so much information on here now, that its hard to imagine that any subject about how to become a better fisherman hasn't already been written, analized or discussed about. But that's what makes this place so great. Just when you think you've read it all somebody will ask something that makes you go.... * Mmmm why did I think about that before? * Wait, I can help that guy out! * Wel, well, well I got to try that! * I knew I did it wrong! Mike
  17. This too... Mike
