Sufix 832
What I like about it: 1. It's thinner than fireline crystal for the same rating. 2. Smoother than power pro and sufix performance braid. The line is stiff when brand new, give it a couple of outing and it becomes smoother. 3. Quite on the retrieve. 4. Does not bleed like Daiwa Samurai. 5. Does not develop line fraying like Fireline Crystal. 6. It does not dig in the spool since it is rounded. What I don't like about it is the price but its cheaper than Daiwa Samurai. Tie a 6' to 8' Mono or FC leader when using it for topwater. Not a good idea to use straight braid( any braid ) when using topwater, otherwise you'll have to contend with line getting tangle on the treble hooks when working the walk-the-dog.

Spool Pin Removal Tool Review
great review ghoti. I also got mine yesterday and used it on my Calcutta 50xt and Revo Inshore. The tool is pretty good. It did not touch the spool edges when removing and putting back the pin. The tool actually sits on the bearing that makes it clear/away from touching the spool edge. Excellent product. And thanks for the link when I was looking for a tool

Crank Bait Packaging
I wonder how River2Sea was able to get their price down to less than $8.00 for their River2Sea V-joint minnow lure. It comes with a pretty nice re-useable hard plastic case. The lure itself looks and built like it would cost more than $8.00 The casing was really good that it made the lure that comes with it seems like a bonus

Curado Backlashing
try adding light oil in each brake collars. It could be that the collars set on are not sliding thru to slow down the spool rotation

Topwater Rod
What BassClary said! Plus a balance light weight rod around 3.5oz or less would make it easy on the wrist when working the walk-the-dog.

Removing Spool Bearing Retainer Pin Tool
Ghoti thanks for the link.. I just placed a bid in the ebay link you gave. The Japan Tackle link just increased the price by $2. Hopefully I win the bid, otherwise I will just order directly to japan tackle directly. BassThumb thank for the link and sharing the info! G3boat, thanks for that clever cleaning method! RM, sorry about that. I was not able to take a pix of my spool so I just randomly search the internet. I replaced the pix with my very own spool/pin pix. Thank you all for the help. Very much appreciate it!

Which Casts Farther, Revo Or Curado?
I have the revo inshore and curado 200e5. Casting 1/4 oz lure, the curado cast further. I maintain both the same way, so bearing and lube are the same condition which give you a good indication its a fair comparison. I have no issues with backlash casting the curado with 20# sufix braid. I hope this helps.

Deal On Amazon???????
Amazon provides free return shipping. I've ordered lures and computer parts from amazon w/o a problem. Internet shops may be bad for local stores but it also gives us the access on hard to find JDM tackles.

Any Curado E50 owners here?
You can easily increase the retrieve ratio of the CU 200E5 by replacing the handle with a shorter length. Like the chronarch and core handles. But not as much as 6:1 but faster than the stock CU200 E5.

fishing with a leader
alberto knot.. I use at least 6 ft of 12# FC leader on 20# braid on 6'6" casting rod for hardbaits. Hardly feel the knot hit the guides on the cast and retrieve.

uneven line on the spool
happens when you are filling the spool and: 1. putting too much pressure on the line plus 2. your cast control cap is turned too tight or too loose. Too tight - tends to push the spool to the right for a righty and fills more on the left side of the spool and vice-versa on a loose cast control cap. To correct this, this set the cast control cap tight enough just to keep the spool from woobling when filling the spool. Unless you have a worn out worm gear or pawl.

dumbest thing you've done while fishing
I farted in my waders and forgot about it. Then later when I got to my car and loosened my belt the stink came out. Waders!...we don't need no stinking waders!

Abu Garcia SX vs. Shimano Curado 200e7 and a Rod
I have the Revo Inshore and the Curado E5. The Curado can cast better and can handle lighter lures. I now use the revo for reloading braid lines between reels.

$500 for new rods
I agree. this will save you money in the long run if you every upgrade. I have found that to be the cause in my life, from Benelli Shotguns to GLX G. Loomis. Buy one of the best and buy it once. (until they come out with nrx ;D) Same here. I agree with these guys. 2X.. It's not only going to save you in the long run but you will enjoy it more.

Suffix 832 "Superline"....yeah right
On Daiwa Samurai, yes. Bleeds so bad it stains the cork handle, hands and under the finger nails. But not with Sufix performance or 832.

Leader to braid; what pound leader to use
I use 20# to 30# Braid with 6 to 8ft 12# FC Seaguar Invizx as leader. Use Alberto knot for joining them.

Suffix 832 "Superline"....yeah right
Have you checked you're rod guides? Line fraying like crazy can be caused by grooves in the rod guide, specially the tip guide.. I haven't got line breaking issue w/ 832. I use 20# 832 w/ 12# FC leader. My leader breaks off every time I force to pull the lure from hung up. But just like other braid it definitely frays and snaps easily whenever it get rubs against rocks.

why am i getting play in my curado 201e7?
Just send it to shimano service center. They don't charge a fee for this kind of issue. It'll only cost you shipping going to them.

why am i getting play in my curado 201e7?
Had the same issue one time with a curado and it was caused by excessive oil in the clutch bearing. Solve it by disassembling and soaking/rinse the clutch bearing with white gas or kerosin or paint thinner. wipe off excess cleaning agent and drop 3 to 4 drops of Corrosion X on the bearing and a drop on the Clutch inner tube.
