  1. Caught my PB Crappie today a nice 16" 2#2oz. Was after Northerns but this one hit a SK 1/2oz Red Eye Shad Chrome Blue. Was a nice fight even with a 7'Med Fast Smoke rod & 50E reel. To say the least I was thrilled. Here a few pics.
  2. Nice!! thats a great catch in my area as well.
  3. YEAH!! Better hope there not another fish down there wanting a 7" Anaconda
  4. Surprised no one has posted to show the error in the original post yet corrects all others..
  5. I never gave the notch a notice til you mentioned it even had to go look for it to see what you meant. At first thought the picture was showing the end of the reelseat. Not an issue for me at all.
  6. Arent 50E's all the same? The 2012 G series doesnt have a 50 size so if you are seeing a curodo without the notch its not a 50E.
  7. One thing to try is use marker and color the line right at the knot for like an inch or so. If it breaks again and it comes back with no mark then its your line not knot breaking. If you have about an inch of marked line and its broke then its the knot. Just tossing out an idea
  8. That notch is the anchor for the open pivot point of the sideplate. The sideplate doesnt actually come detatched it is still connected when opened,,just swings out of the way, and the notch is where it stays connected to the reel- spring loaded.
  9. I take pics of most every fish I catch makes for like a log of the day usually try to get the place of where it was caught in the background. Here my PW
  10. Spinnerbait-One reason it can be slow-rolled/dragged on bottom.
  11. Those are good catches, RAGE ON.
  12. Im not sure it is all hype. Ive only used them for a few weeks now and havent missed a hit yet. They also go deep on hookset easier it seems this with ML to M rods. I used gammy mostly too in the past and can really tell a difference so far. Just prior to getting Trokar I tried Owner and those are said to be very good but for some reason with the same set-up & lure I was missing hits too much to continue use thats why I tried out Trokar. I have noticed that after I snag a rock good the point rolls thats about the only negative so far. The gammy dont seem to roll just get dull after caught on rock. I havent used them enough to say Ill buy again but if future remains like present I sure will. I dont go through many hooks so the price difference doesnt concern me much, just results.
  13. the villains are $130 at TW dont know/read much about them here are weights for them not all that light about avg to other in reg price range 6’6”/M-F/3.8 6’6”/MH-F/4.1 6’9”/ML-MF/4.1 6’9”/MH-F/4.1 7’1”/M-M/4.2 7’1”/MH-F/4.7 7’3”/H-F/4.9 7’6”/MH-F/4.9 8’0”/H-MF/5.4
  14. Well TW has Smoke rods for $90 free shipping. Dont know about the spinning line but I have a casting Smoke 7' MF and its a great rod. Well balanced with a 5.9oz reel along with being very light 3.4oz so a 6'3" should be even lighter. Sensitivity based on the price of $90 is extremely good. I have/had Croix Premier spinning, Abu veritas micro and my Smoke has noticeably better sensitivity rivals my Avid. Im with you about buying local when feasible but when a good deal pops up I go for'em. Might your local match the TW price? So if the spinning rod holds true to the casting rods the Smoke would be a very good choice.
  15. Oh I wasnt saying it was not the cause, just others had REC grooving issues with other lines even befor S8S came out.
  16. Thats not just a PPS8S issue though Ive read of that happening with a number of different lines even mono. http://www.michigan-...ad.php?t=319660 here in this thread a person reports of just mono use and getting grooves. I have S8S 10# on 2 spinning and 15# on 2 bc most of my fishing done with just these 4 no issues not REC guides. I dont fish in dingy waters though so that makes the difference?
  17. There has been a few times that I noticed the skirt being hindered in movement by twistlock style.
  18. In this thread here http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/106990-a-few-catches-with-ltb-mlxf/ I have a few pics of the avg fish I catch. In my 3rd post is a pic of a 2#2oz bass that is my second largest of the year so 14"-15" avg and 16+ very excited about. I havent been skunked in 7-8 years so always expect to catch something.
  19. 15# PPS8S=4# mono has been working just fine on my 50E. No fish over 18" though so not getting much in the way of hard pulling/fights.
  20. Oh thats a very nice bass, good catch.
  21. The watermelon/chart is my fav palm tree. The hydra skirt was dipped in JJ's but I put a few together in a bag and well the JJ blead and the rest of the body brightened-up, usually the body is darker.
  22. Oh yeah with a bitsy minnow & UL target the boils on top.
  23. Very nice catch. What it caught on?
  24. Just got back did a bit better with my 2nd biggest of the year 2# 2oz LTB handled it ok but was a much better fight. Threw palm tree along flat weed area edge 6'-7' deep that drops quickly to 18 feet.
  25. A fishing derby was won with just one 14" bass on this lake. There have been a number of tournaments where 6# took 1st so 4-5 of these and you are placing 1-2.
