Cast master's(either silver or gold), and fly on a bubble works really well. Gulp alive and salmon eggs work as well.

Around here the cast master's, panther martin's, and rooster tail's work well. Last year I started using the fly on a bubble method and it worked really well. Gulp alive and worms always produce just not as much fun in my opinion.

I have a Shimano Syncopate 1000 paired to a BPS extreme spinning rod. I really like this set up, however it is my trout and pan fish rod. If you live near a bass pro shop and can wait to pick it up. I bought my rod for 30 bucks in January on clearance. The Shimano reels are really nice, and I am thinking about getting a med action extreme and a Shimano Sahara 2500 for bass. I don't know much about the president reels, but hear they are nice.

Went out to the lake last night for about an hour before church, and caught my first two large mouth bass. I did not have a camera so no pix. One was 10 inches and the second was 7 inches, I know they were small. The kicker was It was the last cast as we were leaving. I was using a jitter bug. and they both hit at the same time. I thought i had just snagged another tree bass, aka weeds, when the line started fighting me. I got all exited and when I finally got it in to the dock there were two on the lure. The smaller one had hit the rear and the larger one hit the front. I never set the hook so I think they must have set it for each other. My wife and kids were laughing at me trying to figure out how to get them out of the water without hurting them. I am definitely hooked. If the little ones fight like that can't wait to get a big one.
