  1. Kent, I may need to tag along Saturday morning. Give me a shout later in the week.
  2. I am comparing the Duckett DFMM73MHC and the Dobyns SS733C. I already own a DFMM73MHC. This will be a general use rod. The Dobyns is the same price and I read some good things. Just want to know how it compares to the Duckett.
  3. If you had a choice, which one would you go with and WHY?
  4. We caught some fish, but man I am wore out. They launched in the back of Bear Creek. 4 pros launched there. But we saw several other pros running around.
  5. Was out there today. Rough day in the wind. We launched at the same ramp as Duckett and Hackney. We saw probably 7 Elite Series pros today. How did you get the opportunity to marshall? Next trip is on me.
  6. Okay. I was just curious.
  7. Those sacks came fom Yellow Creek? Are you sure?
  8. I wonder if I could start fishing Monday through Friday and only work on the weekend. I might have to look into that.... ;D
  9. Thanks guys. He put up a pretty good fight. Can't wait to get back after em. Those brown fish got some fight.
  10. We did pretty decent for the day. We didn't catch a ton below the dam and the wind really picked up so we hopped on the lake side to try to get out of the wind a bit. We did pretty well with jerk bait on the lake side. Caught some smallies and some green fish.
  11. Went out to Tennessee River this weekend with my good friend Kent a.k.a. Roadwarrior. Saturday the temperature was mid 50's in the morning. The water temp was about 55 degrees. TVA had 8 gates opened and the current was a rockin. We started out with topwater. We had no takers. Went to some jerks. Not much going on. Threw a jig on a drop off and kaboom!!! I got the better of this 5 pound smallie (my PB). At first I thought I had a big ole drum as he did not come up immediately. But this dude came to the surface and I had smiles ear to ear. ;D If you have not introduced yourself to Roadwarrior I suggest you do so. He has a wealth of fishing knowledge and he is one of the nicest guys on the planet. Thanks again Kent.
  12. Not I. With all the rain we got I ended up hitting the duck blind. Probably would have done better on the lake. Ducks seemed to moved out with the front.
  13. I may be able to go. i will let you know by tomorrow.
  14. You probably won't see this before you leave but if you put in at the Shell gas station and go past aqua yacht harbor and follow the bank to the right you'll run into a cove that has a white boat shed in it. The water is very low there and there's a lot of mud, but the water starts off really shallow and goes deeper in the back center of the cove. I caught two nice ones with a pop r right there where it drops off. I haven't fished Pickwick but once and I'm sure during the spring and right after summer it's probably more active than the river, but when times are tough I think you'll always have a better chance working the mouths and points of coves on the river side. Didn't see your post. Yeah it was a tough tough day today. Should have put in on the river. Oh well. That's why they call it fishing and not catching. ;D
  15. Just got off the lake. Two keepers all day. I tried crank, jigs, topwater, etc. Caught the keepers on shakey head in the shallows. If anyone knows what they are doing let me know. Going in the morning. Plan on staying on the lake side.
  16. If you keep heading down 25 to the Shell station you would be putting in at Yellow Creek. We went last Wednesday and I landed this 4 pounder on a crankbait. We caught several 2 to 3 pounders. Caught them on cranks and jigs.
  17. It was a pretty good day. It was a little chili and windy. But I had my heavy duty clothes on and it didn't bother me a bit. Caught a bunch of keepers. Pretty fun day. I will check with you next time.
  18. On pickwick. My brother has been asked to work this weekend. So I have an open seat. Will be driving down in the morning and coming back in the evening. My email is carrollhoselton@gmail.com if interested.
  19. What about the 12 lb 11 ounce monster you caught?
  20. Westennessee1, I have only been below the d**n a few times. We launched on the river side both times. It can be a little tricky from what I have experienced. Cheers!
  21. Just wanted to throw a big THANK YOU to Roadwarrior for a fantastic time on Saturday and for sharing some very insightful information on fishing for smallmouth. Roadwarrior is a class act and a great guy to fish with. Looking forward to fishing with you again my friend. Oh and thanks for showing me a great place to stop for lunch.
  22. I called Lowrance back today and spoke to someone else. He seemed to have more knowledge than the last guy. I am going to find someone local that has the blue connectors and test the antenna to make sure that it is not my primary issue. If it works then I am going to see if I can locate a male 60 ohm terminator. Lowrance doesn't produce them anymore. If I can't find one the guy said I can buy a kit and make the connection work for about $50. We shall see. If anyone lives in the Arlington, TN area and has the blue connectors let me know. I need to test my LGC-2000.
  23. So I have a problem. I bought a boat with a LMS 332c with blue connectors and the GPS module is not responding. I have done a ton of research and I am beginning to think that I may be overlooking something or the Lowrance Tech Support guy is an idiot. I am getting 12 volts to the module. That doesn't seem to be the issue. So I call and talk to Lowrance or whoever they go under and told the guy my issue. He told me that I needed to get a Female 60 ohm terminator. I told the guy that it is the female end and you can put 2 females together (at least not on the blue prong) ;D But he insisted that was what I needed and I ordered it. So I get the 60 ohm terminator in today and discover that they won't go together. Hmmm. > He must have thought I had the Y-adapter cable or the soft T. I really don't know... So now I have the 60 ohm terminator that doesn't fit and a GPS module that still won't respond. I have a single wire that runs from the head unit to the "hard" T. The LGS-2000 is connected to the "hard" T. Then I have a female plug with nothing connected to it. From the research that I have done it seems that I have not completed the network. If anyone has any info please let me know. This is very frustrating. Thanks.
