Loving the Carbonlite setup! Caught a few on a Booyah jig and a shorten Swimming Senko watermelon red flake as a trailer. Shhhhhh! I like the combination in the summer.

Falling into a coma myself, as soon as my little monsters fall asleep! Always a great time talking everything bass fishing. @hookingem: you have send me the name of the store again. We got of the water later, and figured the shop was closed. May get out there this week.

Me and partner caught only 3 out Briery, btw 2-3lbs, finally broke the ice. Went out Sandy caught 3 more, roughly the same size. We gotta do again sometime soon.

Welcome to the site and Richmond. Without a boat, Innsbrooks at Lake Rooty is a nice place to go, it's in the Westend, on the corner of Nuckles and Cox Rd. Or any of the local parks and few spots on the James(i.e Pony Pasture or Pipeline)on foot (or Wading). Have you visited the VA Department of Game and Inland Fisheries? There's endless places to fish, thats in or close to Richmond, if you have a boat (some places you can rent a jon). I usually go out to the Chickamony @ Ed's Ellen, behind Brown's Island, Maury St. boat ramp, Swift Creek, Pocahontas park or Osborne Landing to name a few. I brought the BPS digital scale less than a year ago, and I trashed it over a month ago. NOT worth it. The scale eventually wouldn't weigh correctly or just remain on zero. I don't remember seeing it. Looks as though I need to get more studying and practice and a few upgrades.

We were there from 630am to 1pm. I had the only trailer connected to a car (gold honda accord). I remembered you'd said that once, "if you are fishing the bank, the fish will be behind you." It may have been us fishing in the trees not far from the ramp, we had just left the cove next to the ramp. The only reason we stop to fish that area is because we spotted fish on the depth finder. But we continued to the area opposite the ramp. Were you in the boat where one of the guys left some rods in truck, so the boat returned to the ramp? And the two were arguing and joking about it.

@Wayne P.: We fished the two coves to the right of the 701 ramp and up the tree line, just left of the ramp, also the area directly across. Even fished the channel mid-lake, sjohn13 showed us. We wacky rig trick worms, t-rig trick worms senkos, cranks, drop shot, spinners, jigs, beavers...everything. We were there at 7am-around 1pm. Caught up with sjohn13 before we pulled out. Sounds like you got there later, just after we left. Talked to another friend that fished near the dam mid-day and they caught a number of bass, just maybe we should have waited later to fish. Next time.

Briery 1, Us 0! We tired everything the tackle box, but nothing. Left around noon and went to Sandy after lunch. Caught six there, biggest being 4+. Still had a great time visiting the famous Briery Creek. I will see her again...soon.

I'll finally make it out there for the first time this Friday; trying to do my homework for the past few days.

@reelcrazy: Do your small lakes bass club have website with upcoming tourny dates? I would mind fishing a few of them.

Not so bad today out on the water, only a few loose backlashes. All were easily fixed. However, casting from my left with my right hand is a little difficult. Had to result to pitching, instead of casting.

I'll play/practice with mono for awhile before I run out and get more fluoro. I like the soft/flexablility of mono versus fluoro. I had to cut half my line of fluoro the first time out...was not happy about that!

@ endless: I wonder how much the tip given on removing backlash in the video work? He suggested pulling on the v-shape loop created during a backlash.

Beginning to realize time is everything with a baitcaster! I cast much better side-arm versus overhand; better distance and accurancy.
