Have a pad? I think you meant pedestal. I do. Mine is a non-adjustable. It just so happened that one of the clicks was just the right height for me. But I am 5'4" on a good day. So I cannot recommend one for you. Best bet is to measure how high you want the butt seat to be and then go to a store that has one in stock and see if it works for you. Jeff

They make non-hydraulic that have preset heights. They are cheaper. Might work for ya! Jeff

Leave the skirts alone. They are tied like they should be. The weed guard is of personal preference. I suggest fishing them like they are until you figure out how you like the weed guard. Jeff

Took my boy Womack out fishing for the first time ever today. He is 3 and just now getting calm enough to do stuff like go fishing. He was nervous at first but got the hang of it pretty good. He did mess up my 1 picture fish. Not sure if it was the fish splashing around, or me grabbing the net, but just as I did, it sounded like someone threw the entire toilet in the lake. Looked back and he was completely under water. Big doofus. Managed to land the bass, weigh it, dump it all before he got back to the boat. Got soaked getting him back in the boat, but at least I didn't have to go swimming after him. Water temp was 58 and air temp was 46. That would have ended my day. Bass was 5.95. Sure wish I would have had time for a pic. Oh well. This was just before the event happened: Jeff BTW- old timer on the lake was across from me about 45 yards hollering if I needed him to take a pic when he heard the bass thrashing in the water. Just about the time I said no I heard him start laughing at the whole situation. It is funny now, I guess....

The actual brand is a Weldbuilt 1648. It started as a bare hull and I did all of the rest. I actually have waterproof foam mats that go in the middle part of the floor as well. Just not in that pic. Maybe this week I will get a fully updated pic with front transducer and middle mats. I like the Terrova for the spot lock. I do not like the stow method of it, and hope someday they will come out with an easier way, not the ulterra though. Haha. As far as pics, upload them to the gallery on here, or to a hosting site and it will be a non-issue. Jeff

1- I do not have an Alde, but you can never go wrong with the Met! Awesome reels! 2- I think 5.2 is too slow for squarebills, but like that ration for cranks 15 foot or deeper. 3- The most I have fished on my Mets is 17 flouro, and 20 Tatsu, which has a smaller diameter than most 20. I think the deep spool would not be a bad choice if you wanted for sure 20-25lb line and were making long casts, or in deep water. Jeff

I am not really a senko fisherman. As a matter of fact I had exactly 1 pack in my boat, when another guy on the lake said he had caught all his bass that day on a senko. So I tied it on and went to town. Jeff

Yes bottom bouncing. Just moved shallow. With the water up almost 3 foot, stained and 62 degrees, I was focusing on shallow water close to deep water and then also the first breaks from shallow water. Almost all fish came in less than 12 fow this trip including the big one. Jeff

By the time I got home last night I was tired and ready for bed. Just got home, unloaded, showered, ate the meal my wife left in the microwave for me and went to bed. Right now is the best time of the year for me and big fish. I don't really slow down much. I will be on the water as much as I can the next couple weeks until this special time of the year is over. Then, I will have a chance to sit back relax, reflect and drink a cold one. Jeff

Nope. She ate a senko also. I would like to say my streak with the jig had continued but it hasn't. No jig fish this trip. The one that didn't was a little dink on a square bill. Jeff

Went out to wet a line this afternoon with a buddy. We caught 13 mostly small fish but 1 was a stud again! All fish except 1 were caught on an Irish senko. (Green pumpkin haha) She went 7.68 and after her lip piercing and photo op, swam away strong! Jeff
