I am experiencing some of the same things here at the ponds I fish. I am throwing swim jigs and spinnerbaits parallel to the bank a lot and having some success. I am throwing football jigs and dragging them across rocky bottoms and having some success. I have also recently gotten into using shaky heads, but I'm not as well as I am with other lures. What lures do you normally throw at the pond? How long has it been since the bite turned off? I am finding out that it is getting a lot harder to catch fish now than any time before where I live. It seems as if a lot of fish just aren't biting and the fish that are are all dinks. Just stay persistent at it and throw lures that you have confidence in.

Spiderwire may be the worst braid you can buy. I have learned this through experience. Switch to some Power Pro. It's similar in price and way better quality wise.

This is similar to a lot of ponds I fish. I primarily start off with casts parallel to the bank with spinnerbaits and swimbaits. Then I look for dropoffs or any structure further out and start throwing plastics. Its pretty hard to fish water where ther is no structure because it seems that the bass are a lot more spread out. Also look for differences in the bottom of the lake, such as rocks. A lot of fish are caught off of rocky bottoms in the ponds that I fish without structure.

I doubt they have tough security in the Congo.

I use the Pro Qualifier for froggin. That thing is a work horse.

Usually 3/8oz to 1/2oz, but I have some in 1/8oz. I really prefer the heavier ones because you can cast them a mile.

The fish, I like. The hat, not so much.

I don't have any pain in my forearm, but my elbow sure does hurt. A LOT. I was playing football today and my elbow just started throbbing and my hand was hard to move as well. It was nearly impossible to make a tight fist with it. This has never happened to me before, so I am going to attribute it to the increased amount of fishing I have been doing lately. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

x2 Same question to you: What rods have you fished that had foam handles and what did you not like? Bucoo Venetta Ugly Stick early carrot stick I didn't like the texture of them, but maybe it just wasn't good quality foam like SoFla suggested. It also left my hands being black :-? which was wierd. Also, I don't like the color of the grip being black, but then again I think it would look funnier any other color. I agree that the grip of an Ugly Stik is horrible, but the Vendetta grip is amazing IMO. My favorite grip I have tried is on the Carbonlite.

Your list encompasses lures that I use throughout the entire year. Not saying that these won't work in the fall, but some better than others. This fall I have been primarily using spinnerbaits, jigs, and senkos. These lures have all been working for me, but different water also means different lures in some cases.

Vendetta or Carbonlite. Both are great for the price.

I'm a righty that reels with his left hand. I think this reel was specifically designed for me! I am blown away with just how ergonomic these reels are. They look funky, and internally they are unique. Too bad they don't still make 'em, but I'll be keeping my eyes open and will pick up a few more 8-) Good to hear. It is probably one of the coolest looking reels I have ever seen.

Split grip. It's much more comfortable while casting IMO. I usually cast with two hands and I like the feel of the blank in one of my hands. It gives me more control (at least I think it does). :-? I have a hard time using a full grip anymore now that I am so used to split grips. I think they look better too.
