  1. I didn't know bass like boxes- thought it was just cats (maybe catfishes too).
  2. Deadsticking.
  3. It floats.
  4. Nothing. They have been getting the better of me lately.
  5. I'm not likely to buy one anytime in near future, but maybe for future reference, here goes.. nothing. I want one with identical components as my NRX 893 JWR (except for the blank- replace with a blank of identical performance and power/ action). What would it cost me including shipping?
  6. 4 for the price of 10? Now that's a great deal!
  7. Rage craw. Seriously, that trailer gets bit by fish of all sizes. I do have other favorite trailers, but can't beat the rage craw for number of bites. (YMMV.)
  8. Almost had you there! Good job on the W.
  9. All my reels are lower end Shimanos (Citicas, Curados, Cardiffs). But my rod brands and prices are all over the place! Loomis NRX, a custom, Dobyns, Kistler, Daiwa, All Star, down to a BPS house brand. I have also owned Powells, Shimanos, Abu Garcias, Cabelas house brands and Berkleys in the past, and I love them all. Anyone else in a similar boat?
  10. You put the hook through the middle of the trailer (like you'd use a pork frog), not thread it on the shank.
  11. I'd fish a 5 power rod for those. Mattlures MH, Okuma MH, Dobyns 795ML, GGR light are the four I used. Loving the GGR, but I don't think Greg/ Harry make them anymore. No idea about stripers.
  12. 12# Tatsu with SD jam knot is my recommendation. Check for abrasion often (it has a softer outer layer which makes knot tying easy). 12# Tatsu has the diameter of most 8# USDM lines. P.S. 12# Tatsu was strong enough to land this little 3.5# that wanted to play and wrapped herself in a seriously gnarly tree.
  13. The light MH would be a great choice for casting situations. For pitching/ flipping/ if you're trying to turn the fishes head out of cover fast, it *might* be a little underpowered (or slower- under load, it bends pretty far down the blank like a fast action should). Disclaimer: I haven't fished the MH or the H.
  14. I do have a little experience with Tatsu. A fair amount actually. What type of baits are you planning to fish, what sort of cover/ structure, and spinning or casting? And, what line are you currently fishing?

No, I don't have any more pics. The snake is alive and well (I hope). It climbed up the rock and then slithered over onto the other side.

  17. Yes, they work! 20 inches of approval. #noobproof
  18. WOW! Congrats.
  19. Wakebait! To answer the original question, I've been catching them on the top since the water temp hit the mid 50s.
  20. my mistake, should have looked closer. I hear ya. When I'm out fun fishing, if it doesn't fit in my pocket, I won't be needing it!
  21. Cover top, middle, bottom; fish fast and fish slow. Depth and speed! How are you fishing these wacky senkos? In the middle I'm guessing. When action slows down, try something slower on the bottom. Or try a bait that you can fish faster- like a swim jig or a spinner. This is assuming you figured out where the fish are- in any case the ponds aren't big, right?
  22. Yes! Brass and glass.
