  1. Good stuff here. Over the past four days I have stuck some really nice fish while battling a stout wind. Fishing parallel with the bank into the wind when possible is effective method. 8-) salmicropterus made a good point "alot of people mentally check out" in adverse conditions. I realize this years ago and took it as a challenge along with having the choice of the prime spots without the pressure.
  2. Thanks for puttin out that fire, firefightn15
  3. Good articles. They may help. http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/fishingtips/news/story?page=b_FT_fall_turnover http://www.islandnet.com/~see/weather/elements/turnlakes.htm
  4. I believe the answer would be yes it is possible if the conditions were right. However, there are alot of variables to consider so I would not say it would kill fish in every case. With that I would agree. along with dangerous ammonia levels. I also assume cow runoff means the cattle have no access to the water. If they do then its not cow runoff but instead a cow jacuzzi and that's a whole different problem.
  5. Nice bass and nice shot holding the camera and getting your self in the picture. 8-)
  6. I keep P-line copoly on my jig rods primarily because of its strength and I haven't noticing it floating much more the the mono.
  7. I have had trouble with the stainless inserts just on the tips on Lighting rods. Mono and Co-poloy wore grooves really bad.
  8. roadwarrior, I am free for Saturday morning if no one else has replied. Unable to PM yet.
  9. Just wanted to drop a post and say hello to all you avid fishermen on BR. I've been a bass fishing junkie myself for 32 yrs strong and its only gettin worse. I love it! I actually joined a couple of weeks ago and I have been doin alot of observing. This is a great resource tool and I appreciate the good moderators.
  10. Edmund Orgil in the Millington area is a good place to fish from the bank. I have stuck some very good fish there. It is shallow though and at times can be tough fishing. It is best to go on the rainy days because there will less likely not be anybody on the golf course or the public bank side. That place is like a skillet on hot summer days so right now is not a good time.
  11. You may find this hard to believe but the same thought has crossed my mind over this past year. I live in Millington and fish TWRA lakes quite often. I will give you a ring. I recognized your church affiliation at the bottom of your post, Shelby Forest Baptist. Is that where you attend? I know a few people who attend there.
