  1. Capt.Bob..curious where you're finding those prices on a new Lews TP? Even on ebay they're higher then that for a new one. I searched and searched, and the cheapest I could find new was $150 shipped.
  2. I second this....I've got one on a St. Croix rod and love it. Extremely smooth, easy to cast. IMO the Lews Speedspool and the BPS PQ are the best reels under $89 (when the PQ is on sale).
  3. I have a Sahara, but my favorite spinning reel under $100 is the Cabela's Tournament ZX, I am planning on making all my reel on my all spinning set-ups this year. Super Smooth, and if you catch the sales right you can get them for $39.99. I believe I read that this is very comparable to the Daiwa Exceler. When they are on sale, I do not think they can be beat for the money.
  4. can anyone confirm or deny that the insides of the PQ are the same as the Revo? I have read this other places. I am heading to BPS on Thursday, interested in trying out this reel.
  5. I am buying a new reel for cranking this week, not looking to spend a lot, really wanted it under the $119 range the Citica's are, but they don't have the gear ratio for deep cranking. I have done a few searches on here, and these seem to be two popular ones in that range. Has anyone compared these two? Or are there any others with the low gear ratio I should be considering in that price range. Thanks in advance for the help.
  6. congrats on the new set up....let us know how you like it..
  7. I didnt get an email, but is there a coupon code? I wouldnt mind trying out those rods...
  8. $80...wow...wish I had a Cabela's near by, I actually dont think there is one in the state. I'll check around the web and see if I can find one close to that..
  9. I have a basstender 9.4 and am looking for an inexpensive fish finder. Would really like to keep it under $200. I know I wont be able to find anything great in that price range, but just something to show structure, depth and the occasional fish. Have been looking at the lower end Lowrance (x50DS and Mark5), the Eagles and the Humminbirds...Any suggestions or feedback you can give would be great. Also, since I only run a trolling motor, what is the easiest way to rig up power to one? I have seen some guys running them off 8 AA batteries, which would be great b/c of size/weight restrictions on the boat....Thanks in advance for the help...
  10. I doubt you will find anyone other then family who will agree to those terms....I would recommend trying your bank first, if they wont work with you, join the nearest Credit Union. I noticed most of the used boats I insure are done by the Credit Unions....and their rates are pretty low now too...
  11. Nick O, An update since you asked....I decided to go with another citica, Cabela's was running a $20 off $150 special, so I picked up the Citica 200e, the Cabela's Tournament ZX Spinning Reel, and an 8# and 10# 300 yard spool of Pline CX premium, shipped to my door for $180 total...as an added bonus, I have my 8 month old son's college fund set up through upromise, so he gets cash back into it from certain online stores, and Cabela's happens to be one of them. So he got 2% of what I spent put into his fund. Not much, but multiple orders over 18 years adds up.....
  12. Nick O, thanks for the advice, the reel would be paid for with cash. Just trying to see if I am missing anything by picking up another Citica vs buying the Curado. The only time I have ever felt like I was "working" with the Citica was throwing DD22s, but on anything shallower it seems to work fine.
  13. As far as throwing med to deep cranks, am I missing anything by using a Citica 200e vs a Curado 200e5? I have been throwing them with the Citica, and it seems to work fine, but have been told the Curado would work better.
  14. I use Pline CX Premium on my baitcasters.
