  1. You can camp anywhere by any of the pits for free from my understanding. Just no electricity to charge your batteries with.
  2. I've heard Ned is about as nice a guy as you can meet, and a decent fisherman apparently I bet Gardner was tough though. We were driving around to get the boy to fall asleep (been really cranky lately), and decided to drive out there after he fell asleep since it's about 5 minutes from the house. There were schools of shad on the surface EVERYWHERE right at dusk. Lots of food for them to eat, and nothing was chasing them anywhere.
  3. 10" worm caught a lot of my better fish last time, on a swinging football head.
  4. They just introduced a bunch of new stuff at Icast that probably won't be available for a little while yet.
  5. If they'd let us do that around here I might be a lot more interested in golfing. It's a cardinal sin to try to fish a golf course pond around here it seems.
  6. 3/8 Cavitron, I prefer black but will occasionally use black also
  7. One other thing though, if I share a spot with someone and they go share it with everyone and burn my spot so I can't even get a chance to fish it anymore because someone is always parked on it, that's the last time I help them out.
  8. Forgot to add my version of this picture
  9. All on a 3/8oz black on black Cavitron the very first one I ever owned, the very first time I took it out of the package
  10. Fall is all about moving baits for me. Keep in mind a lot of your forage species have been growing all year by the fall so the fish will often tend to key in on larger baits than they do early in the year. So if you normally fish a 1.5 squarebill you might want to try a 2.5 or a spinnerbait with bigger blades. If you don't have any swimbaits, fall is a great time to try one
  11. I like them but they aren't my favorite. I'm really becoming a fan of the Havoc Flat Dawg if I'm fishing one weightless.
  12. I prefer an EWG, never had much luck with the hooksets with a straight shank but they work well for others. Try both and see what works for you would be my best suggestion.
  13. Part of the reason I quit fishing hollow belly swimbaits is how much of a pain they are to rig and set the hook with. I'd check out a line through swimbait so you don't have to worry about it anymore. I'm sure you have a lot of weeds to deal with in Florida so maybe something like a Optimum top of the line or you could go with a 6" weedless Huddleston if you really want weedless.
  14. X3 If you can find a way to catch a bass on a Senko there's either no bass there or you need to take up golf.
  15. MS Slammer 7 or 9 inch, 1.5 to 2.5 ounces, surface or subsurface, 37 to around 50 dollars. Excited to try the new Arashi wake bait, it looks great!
  16. I've caught several on buzzbaits and even a 10lb channel on a hollow bodied frog out of the slop, thought I had a state record for a minute. They aren't slow moving bottom feeders like so many people think.
  17. Largemouth no doubt. Even with it's mouth open it's bottom jaw line almost extends past it's eye, close it's mouth and it would be well past it's eye.
  18. I'll help people out but always careful to leave out an important detail or two. Still even if you tell someone exactly where, how, and when it might not matter. I've seen more than once where either I or the guy I was fishing with was tearing them up and the other couldn't get a bite even when we were in the same boat watching how it was done.
  19. We had the same thing happen last year. My buddy got busted off by a fish, then I caught it off the same spot using the exact same bait later that day and it still had his bait in it's mouth.
  20. Heck I don't need an air mattress, I can sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag for all I care. I have a cot I could sleep on also but if you can find room for it my air mattress is a queen size so 2 people can sleep on it without having to get too friendly
  21. Let me try again, Man those are some toads, on a fly rod! I don't have a lot of experience with flyfishing, and I know that big bass can be caught with a fly rod, just isn't something I've seen a lot of as we have very few folks who fly fish around here. They are solid fish regardless of how they were caught though
  22. Smoke them on a cedar plank for about 4 hours with lemon and butter. After 4 hours, throw the trout away and eat the board . They make good cut bait, not fit for human consumption though.
  23. Toasted or not toasted? Not, but it's good toasted too. Crust or no crust? Crust for sure Chunky or smooth? Either but I prefer smooth Jelly type? Any but I prefer homemade strawberry or blackberry. Grape and apple are good too. Bread type? White is my favorite.
  24. Get some Flicker Shads. I used to troll for wipers at La Cygne and Pleasanton a lot and they love those things and they aren't expensive. Shad Raps and Glass Raps work good too. The #5 and #7 purple Glass Rap was a killer at La Cygne.
