Done With Bass Pro Shop
Their prices kill me. Them and Cabela's both are always 1 or 2 dollars more per bait than TW and the other small shops around here. I can't go in there without spending $50 anyways so why not order it online and have it shipped to my house for free with no sales tax?? As far as the time share people, I'm good at telling people no, it's what I do for a living

Do Fish Feel Pain?
Ever hook a fish and fight it to the boat and then give it slack line? I do that often with little fish to see if they'll throw the hook so I don't have to unhook them. A lot of the time they'll stop fighting and just swim away slowly like nothing happened. I've always believed they felt more the pressure of being pulled away from where they want to be. So take away that pressure and their flight instinct goes away and they go about being a fish that's worried about nothing but eating and not being eaten again.

Old Fish Spit Baits Quicker???
They might be able to spit the bait faster because they can exert more force when they blow out a bait, but there's no way they always spit the bait out faster. I've had some big fish eat a bait and just sit there for several seconds while I'm weighing my bait and trying to decide if it's a fish or not.

When Is A Fish No Longer Considered A "dink" In Your Opinion?
If it's shorter than 15", it's a dink. I'd say if it's short of being a keeper, but quite a few of our lakes have 18" length limits and that's getting to be a 3+ pound fish, which is pretty solid fish around here.

Cygne Or Wolfcreek
Yeah Wolf Creek will be shut down by then but depending on the weather it may not have cooled off too terribly bad yet. La Cygne will have soft water for sure, but the fishing has been as tough there this winter as I can ever remember, like 1 or 2 bites a day, if you're lucky, tough. If it were me, I spend a little more on a couple extra tanks of gas and drive right on to Stockton or Table Rock where your chances are a lot better. Now if it does get a little warmer around here and the small lakes start to open up you could always drive down to the Pittsburg area and fish the strip pits. Tons of water, lots of fish, and plenty of places to stay.

What Pfd To Buy?
Nope, only counts if you're wearing it in Kansas. If you like fishing in the rain don't get an inflatable. I had an automatic Mustang that I won in a BASS weekend series tournament and it went off in a downpour once, supposed to save you from drowning but it about gave me a heart attack. The automatic ones are more expensive to rearm too. I have a Cabela's manual one now that I really like. It has just a single strap that runs up the middle of your back too, and they're on sale online right now.

Where Is The Love
Lake trout on a chatterbait, that's pretty awesome! I've caught a ton of rainbows on the micro chatterbaits so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. They're a multispecies bait for sure. I can't hardly fish one without catching a catfish. My buddy and I were night fishing last year and he was using one of my baits in purple magic color when a 10 pound flathead ate his bait as deep as I've ever seen a fish eat a moving bait. White bass and wipers love them too!

Curado I Initial Impressions
- Ever Used Vicious Fishing Line?
Is it the original fluoro? If it is, the regular 12lb Vicious fluoro is my go to fluoro for finesse jigs and smaller T-rigs. It's super strong and very abrasion resistant. It does break if you kink it (haven't found a fluoro that doesn't) and if you go above the 12lb it gets very difficult to manage it without stretching it out first. If you don't want it send it to me, I'll be more than happy to have it- Big Bite Baits Squirrel Tail Worm
They work really well, especially when the fish are really eyeballing your bait because that little knob on the end of the tail floats and quivers at rest to help seal the deal on picky fish.- S-Waver Or Glide Swimmer Or....
You'll like the S-waver, I sure like mine. Never caught a muskie with one but it stood up to this guy just fine and if you catch a muskie as heavy as it was you better call somebody!- Plastic Swim Bait Help
I'd go with the belly weighted style hook if you're dead set on fishing them weedless like that. Personally, I like fish most of those style baits on an open hooked jighead with or without a weedguard. I let them sink to the bottom in the area I'm fishing and either do a slow, steady retrieve or stroke them back to the boat. When they're on them they'll knock slack in the your line on the fall.- What Happened To Strike King Beeding Tubes???
- Feeling The Bottom Finesse Tube Fishing
I had a lot of success with a tube last fall down to about 20'. I was fishing them on a 1/8oz head with my shakyhead rod and 10lb fluoro, no problem feeling the bottom or the bite.- Anyone Have Any Experience Flying With Rods And Reels?
Bazooka rod tube is what I fly with mine in. I've flown to Mexico twice and South Carolina once and haven't had any problems except for the TSA taking the D clip that locks the tube in place, they never did give me a good explanation on why they took it- For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I do like the nasty weather out there, but I've never PB'd at La Cygne. I'm ready for that day that I catch one bigger than 10lbs 2ozs out of there though 13 for a low with a high of 27 sounds like a day that Jon and I killed them out there last January, our guides were freezing until 10 or 11 but we smoked them.- Kc Spring Get Together
We're going to have to hope for a warm spell or we're going to be ice fishing for the trout get together!- I Think We're About To See A Surge On Livingston Lures...
The bills on mine aren't breaking for the most part, mainly pulling out of the bait, I've had it happen a couple times while fighting fish also. The broken bills are usually a result of an errant cast or some other kind of impact, which happens and breaks a lot of baits when that happens. I'm sure I could probably epoxy them back in but I'd get tired of having to do that every time I went out. It hasn't happened with every one of them, I have a few that have caught tons of fish and rocks and keep going strong, but I'm not going to buy dozens of baits to find those 2 or 3 that don't fall apart on me.- Spybait Rod Setup
They really aren't a good alternative to a jerkbait because they sink quickly, so the fish must be willing to chase at least a little for them to work. They're a good alternative to swimming a grub or paddle tail though. I've been fishing them with a 6' 8" ML/XF Shimano Crucial with a 1000 Symetre and 6lb Mustad Ultraline.- Swimbait Spinning Rod?
Guys around here toss heavy swimbaits in outlets for wipers on spinning gear all the time. The bad thing is a heavy spinning setup tends to be quite a bit heavier than a casting combo that handles the same sized baits but if that doesn't bother you then you'll be fine.- Technique For Bbz-1?
I had best success with the BBZ with a slow, steady retrieve, had to be around ambush areas also. I wasn't a big fan of the bait but it has pretty good reviews so hopefully it will work better for you. I like the Bull Shads much better but they're also more than twice as expensive so they should be a better bait.- Zoom Sale At Academy
I bought about 2 dozen bags this morning, some of them are more than 25% off for sure, some were closer to 1/2 off.- Swim Bait On A Football Head Jig?
I fish them on football heads all the time, either open hook or with a weed guard. You can swim them straight or drag them but I prefer to stroke them back towards the boat. The swinging football heads work well also and the let the bait move a little more freely.- Idea For Carolina Rig May Or May Not Work
I've used a sinker peg to make a fast C-rig when I didn't want to take the time to tie up a regular one. It works fairly well as long as you aren't on a snagging bottom because the sinker will keep pulling down towards the hook.- I Think We're About To See A Surge On Livingston Lures...
Grinding through rocks is my favorite way to fish cranks, which is a big reason why I don't spend money on DT's anymore. I don't know how many times I've been running one through the rocks and all the sudden my line goes slack, feels like a fish just inhaled the bait honestly. Then when I get my line in all I have left is a bill. Try to find the rest of the bait floating on the surface so I can get my hooks back and swear again to never buy another one. Never had it happen with a shad rap or scatter rap though. - Ever Used Vicious Fishing Line?
