  1. I have a couple of the Gizzard shads
  2. They swim poorly, smell terrible, hookup ratio is terrible if you do get a fish to eat one, and the finish is actually just painted on and it flakes off very easily. Just a very disappointing bait all around for me.
  3. Yes it does. Getting to do that hour twice is the longest hour of the year.
  4. Ordered one a couple weeks ago, still waiting for it to ship. I was told last week it will be shipped "In the next several days", whenever that is.
  5. The price tag doesn't bother me, the obvious fact that it's complete bull that it's "600 lures in one", eliminates any chance I'd buy it.
  6. I love it, been my #1 jerkbait rod so far this year. I was afraid it might be too soft but couldn't pass it up for the price. I like the full sized guides, because I'm often dealing with ice and they handle it much better than the micro guides on my other jerkbait rods. The handle took a minute to get use to, but now it feels very comfortable. I've been fishing 78 pointers and 110 sized baits on it no problems.
  7. I've done very well on Bull Shoals dragging a 1/2 or 3/4oz football jig. The swinging football head suggestion is a good one too. You'll lose a lot to the rocks and the zebra mussels so be ready with plenty of extras.
  8. I used to do good with Bandit 100 and 200 series, and a Bomber Fat Free shad.
  9. Yeah watch the Flea Market, always some good lure lots for sale on there, but you have to act fast when they pop up.
  10. Save your money.
  11. I found some for dirt cheap several years ago and bought a bunch. Fished them a few times and couldn't get rid of them fast enough. I love LC jerkbaits, but they were terrible for me.
  12. There is no secret unfortunately. Probably the best thing to do is be prepared so when it does happen you can take advantage of the situation.
  13. Sure would suck if he happen to run into your braid with his trolling motor as he cut between you and they bank I've had some really bad ones. It's hard not to say anything, but I can't really afford to because of my job. I've taken pictures of guys who have done it in the past, video is a good idea too if you can. Problem is, you never know if it might set someone off and then you could really have a problem.
  14. Depends on your definition I suppose. The H2O baits are great baits for the money. I like the 1.0 Strike King, the 0.5 Lucky Crafts, Duo Realis shad 62DR or 59MR, and the #5 Shad Rap.
  15. I tagged Glenn for you to see if he knows.
  16. I really liked it. Cast great and held up great. I fished it on a 25 size Pflueger Supreme XT casting a 1/6oz Little Cleo. Caught dozens of trout and bass with it and it performed excellent. I was using the 5.2lb test.
  17. I've caught some monsters fishing from shore, I'm not risking losing them by fishing with gear I wouldn't use otherwise.
  18. Frogs croaking is how I know it's spring time. They started last week sometime. Not so loud tonight after the snow yesterday
  19. You'll hear no complaints from me. Signed, Midnight shift workers everywhere
  20. Hyperpigmented melanosis, it's harmless to the fish.
  21. The President is great, but if you want something nicer you can easily find the Supreme XT in your price range.
  22. I actually have a Shock that I use for lipless baits.
  23. Wow that's a nice looking bait!
