  1. Yea, That's I good idea. I have stories from my years of recreational fishing as well as the 20 or so tournament's I've entered.
  2. I'd like to write a book that talks about my 12 years of bass fishing, but what topics/aspects should I write about? i'm good at Jig fishing, Topwater, finesse, and so/so with spinnerbaiting..... Any ideas?
  3. Do you like your scent thick and goopy or thin?
  4. What do they put in scents that makes the scent penetrate the plastic?
  5. ok, I was just wondering. I was going to suggest to him to give his scent out with a piece of sponge as an applicator
  6. I got a container of homemade scent from a friend the other day and it's a thick, oily, Garlic scent which he said was made with natural ingredients, but he sent it to me in a small, 4 oz. plastic Zip Loc container and whenever I rub it on baits like senkos the scent dries and my hands are then filled with salt after the scent dries
  7. Any good ones? I found this one: http://www.ll.georgetown.edu/federal/judicial/fed/opinions/96opinions/96-1239.html
  8. Has anyone ever tried color lines such as P-Line's fluorescent green CX or Red Cajun line? Did you see any noticeable difference? I am considering spooling some up on one or two of my reels for my tournament next week on the Potomac river....... Where the water is pretty dirty, so I guess thats better than clear water. Also, Has anyone ever tried Straight shank hooks with Wacky rigging senkos? Are Extra wide gap hooks or offset worm hooks better? Has anyone tried trokar hooks for senkos? Also, has anyone ever tried power fishing with a senko? What I mean is going through and pitching/flipping a senko to wood and grass very quickly, letting it sink and hit bottom and then reeling it in fast.... I would think it would help me cover more water come tournament
  9. With the O-Wacky tools and the O-rings how many more fish do senkos last for?
  10. Sam, Thank you for the info, I will be sure to try it when I go fishing at a pond by my house today. What I have been doing with the hookset lately is when I see the line start to move and the bass Is swimming forward with it, I wait a second, Set the hook, and usually i am pretty excited so I hurry the fish in and let him pull drag while keeping the line semi tight. Usually when the line is sinking I leave it semi slack over the water, so when the bass eats the senko I know, I usually do not feel any type of bite. I have the following colors in my box as of today: -Green pumpkin dipped in JJ's Chartreuse -Black/blue -Green pumpkin with gold flake -Junebug -Strike Kings Amistad speacial color I have both texas rigged and wacky rigged the senko before, in 2010 I mostly went the route of texas rigging my senkos almost all of the time, but this year I've been focusing on the Wacky rig. I think my problem is I am not letting the bass run with it long enough, I usually set the hook when I see the Line move off. I've only hooked 3 bass deep inside the mouth this year since march. Usually they will just inhale it and swim slowly away. Usualli I can use one senko to catch 2 bass per bait, and when I hook the thired one the senko comes off.
  11. Yea, I think my hook sets may be part of the problem, I was out with a proffessional bass guide a month or two ago fishing on a private pond and he watched me fish and told me sometimes I don't even set the hook, I just lean into the fish.
  12. I know there not panfish because I either see the bass flash on or eat the lure on the fall and sometimes bring them to the surface when reeling them in? Could a 3/0 Straight shank hook make a difference?
  13. Why is a 7' flexible rod not good for Senkos, but a 6'6 rod works better?
  14. I've been using 4 1/2 inch ones, and where I am fishing a 14 inch fish is a big fish
  15. The thing is that i will usually feel a THUMP!, then slowly lean into the fish and will have them coming towards me, or sometimes going paralell and in a few seconds they pull off
  16. Also, I am using 8-10 pound test monofilament and sometimes fluorocarbon
  17. The senkos I am using are 4 1/2 inch Case magic sticks, I was originally fishing the senkos with a 7' medium Berkley cherrywood rod, but because of all the fish i was losing, I switched to a stiffer, 6'6 spinnerbait rod and still miss fish. I have been using a 3/0 hook. The thing is, is it feels like the bass will bite, but then pull off. I've tried adding JJ's magic and they still pull off. Also, I've set my drag to slip when I set the hook so I do not pull the bait away from the bass, which has helped a little. Most of the bass that i do land have either swallowed the hook, or are hooked in the bony part in the side of their mouth.
  18. How do you guys increase the number of hook ups with baits like wacky rigged senkos? Any modifacations to the hooks?
  19. Anyone know of a $50-70 GPS for Bank Fisherman to mark waypoints along the bank?
  20. I sometimes wonder how Ike, Skeet, and KVD managed schooland going pro at the sme time..........
  21. My problem is is that I don't get home until 3:50-4:10, because I carpool with another kid my age. The place I fish is 10 minutes walking distance away from my house.
  22. I would do it at lunch, but my parents want to SEE me doing my homework at 6:30 at night when they get home, I used to just tell them its done, but now they want me to sit down every night and do all of my homework and review my notes, etc.
  23. Thats what I try to do My mom thinks that if she doesn't see me study or do my homework, which I do before she gets home, then she thinks I don't do it................
  24. Hey guys, I have about 3 and a half weeks left until school starts for me ( I go to a private catholic school). I'm going into 10th grade........ Last year was a tough year and my parents think fishing got in the way a little to much and got to the point where I was not allowed to fish the last month of school. My Grades weren't bad, I was getting one or two A's, A few B's, and like 2 C's. What I was wondering is how you guys did well in school and do well in school, BUT still get to bass fish........ In middle school I could fish 2 hours every days and have mostly all A's because I would do my homework at Lunch. Any suggestions how I can fit fishing in?
