This Made Me A Even Bigger Fan
I just wanted to let you know that now i am an even bigger fan of the Denali Jadewood rods because of what happened to me fishing today. I took some 2nd grade girls out fishing today that live on my street with my two denali rods and I casted one of their rods out with a piece of cheddar cheese baited on the hook and a heavy sinker and before i knew if i was playing a 13 pound red and white Koi with my Denali Spinnerbait rod and the rod worked so well and really did well during the fight when the carp was either surging for deeper water or thrashing around on top.

Does Anyone Know What This Is?
Does anyone know what type of fish this is? My friend caught it in one of the run off ponds we fish for bass in. It looks like a shad to me............. I thought it might be a carp, but it didn't have a carp like lip

Beasty Bluegill Color
Hey Guys, I designed a new bluegill color for my sponsor (Backwater custom baits) to use on spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and Jigs and I named it Beasty bluegill. I got the baits yesterday. I went out yesterday and caught 1 small bass real quick on my bluegill colored swim jig and then went out today and lost 2 and caught 2, they would just swim real fast up to it and inhale it or boil up on it. What do you guys think of the color?

I have a tournament on the Potomac river next weekend that I want to use it in...... Or would a 6:3.1 Daiwa baitcaster with the 65 pound braid work better?

Which Rod For Frog Fishing In Grass
What do you think of the 4 rods above are best for frog fishing in grass?

Frog Fishing Reels And Rods
What was happening was the bass would get down in the milfoil after toilet flushing my frog and wiggle the hook out while I was trying to reel them in with my 6'6 denali Finesse rod, with a Pflueger Trion spinning reel with 30 pound spiderwire. This happened 4 times with 4 good bass. My partner told me I need a high power, High speed reel to get the bass out of the grass faster.

Getting My Keel Weighted Rage On!
I have a ABA bass tournament on the Potomac river this Saturday, I'll be on the water for 9 hours and plan on throwing keel weighted craws, thumpers, monkeys, and eeliminators, and keel weighted roosters, hawgs, toads, anacondas and shads to grass through grass and in Grass all day saturday....... But i was wondering if there are proven retrieves for each lure and how I should work each of the lures. I have dipped all of them in Chartreuse JJ's magic also. What tackle should I fish these on, I was planning on using a spinning reel with 30 pound spiderwire moss green braid. Any ideas, tips, or suggestions? How fast do you fish each bait?

Small Bass Eating Frogs
Ok, I have had over 50 bass blow up on my frog the last few weeks at the ponds by my hou, but I can't seem to get a hook into them. I let them load up on it, but they never do, they will come to the surface bust on the frog and then go down, but the frog always ends up back on the surface...... Could these be small bass that cant fit the frog in their mouth?

Weather And Bass Fishing
Ok, The weather here in MD this week is supposed to be in the Low 90s until Friday and saturday where the temperature drops off to 88 degreees and then on saturday, 84 degrees. How Will this affect the bss fishing, will it make the fishing tough and will it move the bass out of the grass beds? It just seems like with temperature drop of 5 degrees occuring, it will be quite a shock to the bass. What would this air temperature drop do to the water temperature? Is this temperature drop considered a cold front? I have a tournament on the potomac river next saturday and that day there is a chance of isolated thunderstorms, would this make the bass more active. Plus, there calling for 55% humidity the day of the tournament with 5 mph winds ( I know thats not a lot), but since its going to be breezy and there will probably be a little chop on the water and The sun is supposed to be very exposed according to the UV index, which is at "very high" at 9, would that make the bass move tighter into the grass as the day grows longer, but the topwater or spinnerbait bite better at dawn before the Sun gets high in the sky?

A Challenge
Ok, I just read an article about how Kevin VanDam has caught a limit of bass for 57 consecutive competition days and I decided it to try it myself, So far I have fished for two days (Today and yesterday) and have caught very small (3-5.5 pounds) of bass both days on a senko. What do you guys think of this? Will it make me a better tournament angler? I am going to try to visut 30 different ponds, streams, lakes, and rivers and catch a limit at each.

Fishing Not Like Last Year
I have been trying everything I have, Im used to fishing this pond when it has grass. Here is some info on it: Water is up to 6 feet deep and murky. There is no cover except when the grass starts to grow. There are bass, bluegill, carp, and catfish. The water is low because of the lack of rain we have had. Here is some more info: The pond has a silty bottom and it has several shallow flats that slope and gradually lead into deeper water. There is no structure in the pond, but there is A LOT of duckweed and other types of grass. the water is pretty stained and is only about 6 feet deep, maybe more in the middle. I started to see spawning bass on beds around the end of April. I have tried fishing the conditions I'm faced with, not the past.

Fishing Not Like Last Year
Ok, The ponds I fish often by my house are seriouslty behind this year. Last year by this time the spawn had been long over, the duckweed started to grow and mat on the surface where I could punch a jig down into the thick patches of duckweed and get bit. This time last year the bass were postspawn and I could easily catch a bass by dropping a jig into a trees roots over hanging the water, but now we have no grass, I have seen VERY little spawning and have yet to catch a bloody male or spawned out female this year from these ponds. It just seems like last year everything was on schedule, this year not so much.Any suggestions on what I should use or what stage the bass might be in? Here are a few of my fishing log entries for last year: June 7th, 2010: Today I was fishing the Hack attack Jig with a 10 inch anaconda as a Jig trailer and I dropped it into some submerged branches of a bush and I let the jig fall and all of the sudden I feel THUMP- THUMP, but I couldn't set the hook because a branch was in the way and the fish pulled it a little and was gone, I was trying to do what Shaw Grigsby did when he was pitching Hack Attack jigs into submerged bushes, he said to let the bass take it and run out of the bush, then set the hook, but that didn't work. I have a feeling that the bass Just hit the anaconda and not the Hook of the Hack attack. June 5th, 2010: I was getting bites in thick patches of Duckweed. The one bass I landed nearley choked on the Jig. I caught him in some vegetation by the Shoreline........ Today I went out and threw a Hack attack Jig in the Bama Craw color with a Rage Craw Trailer and got a few big bites and even landed one. I caught the one bass under a bush/tree that had some Vegetation. I dropped the Jig in and immediately started shaking it and got bit. the bass was about 12 or 13 inches.
