Wanting a new reel. Narrowed it down....
my first baitcaster was a revo...then i bought a curado and citica and will never buy another abu again. Its all personal preference and everyones going to have their own opinion. Both are great reel i just found the curado to be much easier to use and much smoother, it also casted the lighter texas rigs and light cranks better. Good Luck!

New Jigs and Blades
I got a package in the mail today with some new jigs and blades i had ordered from Northstar Custom Baits. This was the first time i had placed an order with them but after reading all the positive feedback about their products i figured id try them out. Shipping was very fast and the quality of their products seems top notch!! The colors and quality seem to be higher than any spinnerbaits or jigs i have bought in basspro or dicks over the past few years. Its safe to say that ill be placing a few more orders soon! now i just cant wait for the ice to melt so i can start slingin'em. Thanks Northstar!

Baitcaster v. Spinning
like stated before, they are "tools". And having the "right tool" for a particular situation can make all the difference in the world. I like the accuracy and speed a baitcaster brings at certain times but the function of a spinning outfit will always have its place. And its what most of us anglers grew up fishing with so despite the fact that many people have 7, 8, 9 or even more baitcasters, you'll always find a few spinning rods with them as well.

Bass Resource Iphone App
- Bass Resource Iphone App
I got my iphone from verizon earlier this week and its great but one thing i was tremendously dissapointed by is that this website does not work on the iphone for some reason. I am unable to get to the forums page or any other page besides the homescreen for that matter >. Hopefully someone out there could create an app or some way to view these pages and take full advantage of the site on their phone. My blackberry navigated the site fine but the iphone will not. How else am i supposed to get through class if I cant read through the forums?!?- Rattletrap or Rattlin' Rapala?
its funny how everyones had so much success with the res. I have three that ive fished over the past two years and have barley caught anything on them. Ive had much more success with the rattletraps and rapalas. Maybe just the conditions of the waters im fishing...- Favorite Fishing pictures?
Awesome pictures! too bad you couldnt have found that buck during the season though- Zac Brown Band
if there was one person in the world i could meet it would without a doubt be jennifer nettles....that women if flat out amazing!- Rattletrap or Rattlin' Rapala?
Which do you prefer if any? I realize there are plenty of other lipless cranks out there but over the years ive found these two to be the most productive and most widely recognized. Up until last year i always preferred the rattletrap but i caught a ton of bass on rattlin' rapalas last summer. Any thoughts?- Bruins vs. Stars
great game! been a die hard bruins fan my whole life gotta love this game!....still a long ways to go tho..ill believe in the bruins when they play tough in the playoffs- Cumara came in the mail
I got 2 cumaras in the mail a couple weeks ago and its killing me that there's a foot of ice on the ponds and lakes around here. I cant wait for it to warm up so i can put them to the test. I paired them up with a 2500 CI4 and a Curado e7. if they fish as nice as they look my bank account might be in trouble.- St. Croix Rods
Heard from an old co-worker that some of st. croixs rods are being made in China now. Is there any truth to this? I always thought that St. Croix manufactured all their products in the U.S.A, thats part of the reason they were so appealing to me. If they are being made in China that would be a real bummer >- Dick's Sporting Goods deals
Wish i had read this post last week, i was lookin for 2 premiers for trout and calicos, i stopped by today and they were picked clean. Owell, did find some good deals on some Rapala cranks and some LC Pointers so it was a complete miss.- Just ordered a new rod.
just purchased a stradic from david. I should get it sometime next week im pretty pumped- Just ordered a new rod.
I just got two cumaras in the mail the other day. Cant wait to fish them they look unreal and their incredibly light. I got the 6-8 and the 6-9 models, let me know how the 7-2 is because thats probably going to be my next investment.- St. Croix Premier
A premier was my first dable into St. Croix rods and i was immediatly impressed. IMO a very good rod for the price and it will compete with most other rods at that price point. Avids are far step above but the cost is nearly 50% more, good buy!- Mid Priced Reels
x2 - Citicas a great value especially if you find it under 100$- Kayak
I bought a Native Manta Ray 12 last year and i love it!!! I would recommend turning it into a fishing kayak instead of buying the angler edition. Its very easy and will save you ALOT of money! If you dont wanna spend the time doing it yourself then the angler edition is nice, but since i bought mine ive put on 2 flush mount rod holders, 2 scotty holders, an anchor trolley, fishfinder/gps and the things good to go anywhere, ive even taken it 2 miles off shore of cape cod (bay side of course ;D) either way, you'll love the kayak and have many good fishing experiences in it!- Stradic CI4 Spool
Anyone know where i can get a CI4 spool? A red from BassPro told me that if i write to shimano they'll send me one. He made it sound like they would send it for free, im assuming ill have to pay for it and from what ive heard from others it costs like 60$!! If anyone has any info on this itd be much appreciated. By the way, that new CI4 paired with a 6-8 MXF Cumara is by far the lightest combo ive ever held, I cant wait till the ice melts now so i can fish it!- A split-grip St. Croix Premier?
ive always liked the premier rods, and i like the split grip even more, i might have to pick one up for trout fishing. Just another excuse to buy some new tackle ;D- Temple fork outfitters rods
First off, ive never used one but i have held them and matched them up with some reels. They seem like good rods and people ive talked to have really liked them. They dont balance very well with some of the real light spinning reels like the CI4 or new Pfluger and they are heavier than high end rods but thats pretty much true for any rod that costs 100 dollars. I have a few TFO saltwater rods and ive had no problems with them, if ur looking for a good affordable rod its probably a good choice.- Braid without leader
ive used only braid for the past 4 years now and ive never used a leader. Ive been thinking about using a leader this summer in some of the more high pressured waters in my area. IMO it probably doesnt make any difference using a leader for bass fishing. Bass react to strikes and are digressive and predators, this basically means they'll strike at just about anything no matter what it looks like if it gets their attention or rubs them the wrong way. - Bass Resource Iphone App
