i hate to be the bearer of bad news, BUT, i spend the weekend at the lake and we only got maybe 3-4 inches of rain. Not nearly enough, to do anything significant to the level of the lake.

to get to big bass marina or buckeye from the dam, just take 191 north until you get to little flock road, take a left on to little flock, then take an immidiate right onto old hwy 476. From there just follow the signs. probably about another mile. btw, little flock road is roughly 10 miles north of army rec. road. so it's not too much further than where you are launching now.

yes.... I just got home from 9 straight days at the lake. First off, i want to warn everybody of an extreme potential hazard. This past week while running the Texas North/South lane i missed a stump by inches. Just east of housen, directly halfway between marker 62 and 63 there is a stump maybe 2 or 3 inches under the water. I had run this stretch 4 times previously in the past week and noticed nothing, then on saturday 6/9 there happend to be a light 1foot chop that made it visible between the waves, I saw it at the last moment and turned and barely missed it. very scary feeling when your traveling at 60mph... it is directly in between the markers, so if u can stay just on the west side of the markers. now to the fishing... fishing was very consistent the last week. Had several mornings that produced 8+ keepers while fishing from 5:30 till 9. The only morning that produced less than 5 keepers happend to produce the biggest bites. on tuesday 6/5 i had 3 keepers weighing just under 14 pounds. fish were a 3.7, 3.9, and 6.1 .... all the fish were caught on c-rig, crankbaits, and jigs. all fish were caught on offshore humps and mainlake points. here is a pic of the 6.1, normally i would have turned this fish back very quickly, but she inhaled my crankbait. it took me nearly 5 minutes to dig the treble out of her throat, and with all the blood loss this fish was dead before i ever got the bait out. Fish was 23 1/2 inches long.

saturday afternoon between 2-4 25 fish, only fish that were shorter than 15 inches were kentucky's.... biggest was 4.8.... these fish were SCHOOLING in 8-11 fow, on the edge of a large secondary point.. fish were literaly jumping out of the water chasing the shad. Fish were so fully of shad they were spitting them up when we boated them. there was soo many shad that several times i hooked the shad on the trebles of my trap. i weighed the fish, and threw back everything over 3. only kept 1 over three because i was sure it was male, but i sure was wrong. lol.. in all it turned out only 2 i kept were female. all of their stomachs were FULL of shad 1st pic, a sample of the throwbacks, + the largest 2nd pic, multiple shad in the mouth of a fish 3rd pic, smaller fish for the fryin pan... 4th pic, shad on my trap

Pictures & Videos from the Classic Day 2
this is 100% correct. In fact, there are guides around my home lake that advertise, in plain english, these services. There is no way that these pros could survive without some information from locals. There is just simply tooo much water to cover in preparation for these tournaments.

Me and my partner were in the same area yesterday afternoon. If you remember seeing a red and silver stratos that was me. Our report - area - Same, 3-530pm depth - 13-16 ft, just off of point cover - heavy timber and scattered grass lures - 1/2oz carolina watermelon brushhog, black/blue jig w/ same color crawfish trailer. 8 fish, biggest was just over 4lb. i was really hoping with the warmer weather the trap bite would have been on, but it never materialized. Most fish were on c-rig, but bigger came on jig/craw

report for the weekend. Saturday, braved the cold to fish a club touney. At launch the temp was 26 degrees and water temp was 47. Fishing was tuff and cold. Me and my fishing partner only managed 3 keepers, weighing just under 8 pounds. Fish were caught on Jigs in 16-25 ft of water on ridges. Sunday we headed out for a quick fish before heading home, and with the warmer weather, 38 at 7am, the fish were much more active. We picked up 3 keepers before quitting at 930. All fish were caught on a Main lake point. Two keepers on traps, one on jig. Biggest was 4lb.
