Congressional Inquiry
I went to Iowa yesterday and saw gas for $1.86 a gallon. That was the first time I had seen it under $2 per gallon in at least a couple of years (if not it sure seems like it). Hopefully they aren't just teasing us and waiting for summer to jack it back up to $3 a gallon. JT Bagwell

The Colts are killin' me......
I think both of those teams played better than the Bears did today. JT Bagwell

Only up North!!!
I don't think it will be much longer for us. We got more snow today and the temps are only in the low 20's. It was icing over pretty good back around Christmas, but when we got the warmer temps it thawed back out. JT Bagwell

Only up North!!!
In the winter we don't have chunks of ice on the river. We have ice with a couple spots of water. lol Actually, the Mississippi River isn't all the way frozen because we had a long warm snap. I don't think it will take long now. JT Bagwell

Only up North!!!
Today I was at the car wash cleaning the salt residue off of my truck. About midway through the wash I kind of started laughing to myself.... Only a Northerner would be out washing their truck (manually, not a drive through) when it is 23 degrees outside. Hey, it looks good again. lol Had to get it cleaned before the next 4-6 inches of snow comes down tomorrow. JT Bagwell

Recommend a baitcaster reel and rod
I second the vote for the Pflueger Supreme (or the Pflueger President), but for my rod choice I would got with a 6'6" or 7" Medium All Star Platinum Series rod. Depends what kind of bait your are throwing as to what line. However, I fish a lot 1/8 and 1/4 oz jigs on a 6'10" All Star Pitchin' rod with 50 lb test PowerPro. JT Bagwell

Gas prices rantings
The price of gas is finally starting to drop a little in my area. I think it is down to $2.09 per gallon. Hopefully it gets back to the $1.50 range and stays there for a while. My Triton has a 56 gallon gas tank and spending $2.50 - $3.00 per gallon gets expensive. Maybe my Optimax oil will go back down in price this year since oil prices are down. Our local dealer raised it to $30 per gallon last year (up from $23 per gallon the year before). JT Bagwell

B.A.S.S. and A.B.A. join forces
I think B.A.S.S. will continue to play a small roll in the weekend series. For starters it adds a lot more strength to their market approach for sponsors. They will continue to have you be a B.A.S.S. member to fish the tournaments and that adds more selling power for sponsors. JT Bagwell

Power Pro
PowerPro is NOT like used Fireline. PowerPro is an awesome line. To say that it is not abrasion resistant is simply not true. I have dragged PowerPro through some of the nastiest cover and it comes out fine every time. In response to the original question, I use Moss Green most of the time, but when fishing jigs, Senkos and baits that line watching is beneficial, I use Hi-Vis Yellow PowerPro. JT Bagwell

Boat Cover Quandry
I say leave your old cover on it, get a heavy duty tarp from Lowes to put over that and get yourself a nice set of Columbia Sportwears gear. JT Bagwell

Minn Kota Power Drive vs Minn Kota Maxxum
Minn Kota Maxxum is one heck of a trolling motor. I put mine through some horrible abuse fishing shallow backwater areas of the Mississippi river and some of the other places that I go. Even the props that come on them are super tough. JT Bagwell

Insurance cost?
I am about 99% sure that I have a $1,000,000 liability policy and I think it costs around $400 a year on a Triton TR20. The difference between a $300,000 policy and a $1,000,000 policy was so small that I made sure that I was very protected. I also increased the personal liability coverage on my homeowner's policy to $1,000,000 as well. In today's "sue happy" society, it never hurts to be over insured. JT Bagwell
