  1. I went last weekend and purchased a Bass Pro EXTREME baitcast ETX20HA 6.4.1 for $59.00 seemed like a pretty good deal to me,real smooth baitcaster.
  2. Anyone ever use McCoy braid?
  3. Does all braided line require some sort of backing? I talked to the rep at power pro and he recommended a small strip of compressable tape. Some say use monofilament for a backing. How about the other braided line what is the best way to prep before putting it on your reel or do you have to
  4. I use a a Wally Mashall WM 4020 spinning on a 11ft. graphite rod and a Pflueger President on an ultra lite 5 ft. rod. I use 6 lb. test on both. Great set up for crappie.
  5. Being new to freshwater fishing I am in the process of buying a new trolling motor replacing the 28lb thrust motor that I now have on my boat. From what I understand the Minn Kota Power Drive uses electrical power to turn the motor vs the Maxxum that uses cable steering. There is a couple hundred dollar difference in the price, Power Drive being the cheaper one. I would appreciate any information pertaining to the pros and cons on both trolling motors. I am looking at a 55 lb thrust. :-/
  6. I recently purchased a Shimano baitcaster reel at Bass Pro. I asked the salesman to put Power Pro line on it and he said he would have to put a mono backing on it because Power Pro line would cut into the spool and ruin it therefor voiding my warranty. I have heard this once before . Comments?
  7. I am not new to fishing done mostly saltwater, just new to freshwater. I keep hearing about balanced rods, or balancing the rod and reel together. I can understand the balancing part just not familiar with how to check if the rod is balanced or the rod and reel is balanced. OBTW this is a great forum with alot of good information keep up the good work.
  8. Pretty good fishing show. It incorporates locals their fishing spots and the tackle they use. I have been watching it for about 6 month and find it very informative.
  9. I am looking for a custom built bass rod (spinning). I would appreciate any information you might have. Has anyone ever heard anything about Chaos rods?
