Federal Order might affect tournaments
I agree, enforcing the rule will be very difficult. They might be able to enforce the part about taking fish from one river pool to another via the locks. Also in a lot of big tournaments, they will give the top few finishers a polygraph test. Maybe that is how they will check the winners. Who knows what is going to happen with all of today's crap they have going on. JT Bagwell

Federal Order might affect tournaments
This is in effect right. I emailed a guy at APHIS and he said right now there are no provisions for tournaments but they are aware of the concerns. I agree that it will be very hard to enforce and I also understand the logic behind it all. However, on a body of water like the Mississippi or Ohio river, not allowing anglers to take fish from one side to another is kind of dumb. It isn't like the fish couldn't just swim over there if they wanted to. JT Bagwell

Federal Order might affect tournaments
Correct... For example if you are fishing the Mississippi River (this affects more than just the Mississippi) and your tourney launches on the Illinois side, you can not catch fish on the Iowa side of the river and bring them to the scales. Also, a lot of rivers and lakes have locks in them. According to the current Order, you would not be able to lock up or down river to fish and then bring those fish to the scales because each pool is considered its own body of water. Even if you fished on the same side of the river that you launched on and you are running the navigation channels, a lot times they cross the center of the river (into the other state). If this occurs, you are technically breaking the Federal Order because you are crossing state lines. JT Bagwell

Federal Order might affect tournaments
Here is something you guys may really want to look at. http://www.aphis.usda.gov/vs/aqua/ Look at the Federal Order for VHS (no I don't mean the VCR tape). Could greatly impact tournament fishing. JT Bagwell

Spinning Reels
I have used the Pflueger President and it was a great reel. Now I am using the Pflueger Medalist and it is also a great reel. Hopefully I will get the new reels that I ordered soon. They are the new Pflueger Supreme spinning reels (picture below). JT Bagwell

1st Lucky Craft! Wa-hoo!!
Congrats on the new bait purchase. I hope this doesn't happen to you, but I have a funny Lucky Craft story for you. About 4 years ago I was on the Lucky Craft ProStaff. One day I got a package from UPS and it had some prototype baits in it. There was 1 each of about 3 different baits. That day I headed to the lake to check out these new lures. After being on the lake just a few minutes I was trying out one of my new baits and I was watching it come through the water. Just as it got to the boat (with about 3' of line out) a huge Muskie came out of nowhere and grabbed the lure. It proceeded to go straight under the boat and just about snapped my rod in half. I didn't have enough line out to even think about playing the fish. He just snapped my line and kept on going. So I only got to test that lure for about 5 minutes, but I could say that at least one Muskie loved it. JT Bagwell

What hook for a 6in Senko?
I use the Daiichi Fat Gap Bleeding Bait hooks for 6" Yamamoto Senkos. Unless the water is crystal clear, I also 50 lb test PowerPro Hi-Vis Yellow line. It helps me see and feel the strikes a lot better. JT Bagwell

Lures banned by FLW
I think it is genius marketing on the part of the company. Whether or not they "worked" to get banned I do not know. Whatever the case may be, they are going to sell a heck of a lot more lures because of it. I would almost be willing to place a good chunk of loot on the line to say that if some huge pro like Rick Clunn or KVD won an FLW event using one of these lures, they would not move nearly the product, as is going to happen because of them being banned from the whole tournament trail. Approaching companies
Most companies have rep groups that they work with. They are companies that specialize in putting products in stores. If you are interested in being a rep, and the company website has a phone number, call it and start asking questions. JT Bagwell
