Wow, I remember when
I was just looking around and noticed there are 13,411 members on here now. I remember when we were excited when we hit 500 then the 1,000 mark. It is just amazing how much this site has grown over the years. I actually started coming here long before we had this style of forums. JT Bagwell

flipping and braid
Most of my rods reels have 50# PowerPro line on them. It works great and has never given me any reason to use something else. JT Bagwell

Cajun Red Cast versus Cajun Red Lightening
I have never had any trouble with it either. The only time I have ever had any issues with it, is when I left on my reels for a long time and it had a lot of memory. Other than that it has worked fine for me. JT Bagwell

kb here man did i get a surprise (credit card bill)
My wife called me at work about 6 weeks ago to ask me if I bought something to do with XBox Live. Since I don't usually play video games and have never played XBox Live she should have known it wasn't me. Somehow someone in Europe charged the same thing twice in the same day to the tune of about $280+. Then I got hit with a currency conversion fee (or something to that effect). We got a new CC# and all that, but we are still waiting for the charges to be removed. JT Bagwell

Baby arrived!!!! w/pics
Congrats man. Seems like just a few weeks ago my kid was born. Now he is about a year and half old and meaner than a hornet. He beats up me and my Rottweiler on a daily basis. LOL He is only nice to me if he wants something. JT Bagwell

pflueger summit
I have several of the Summit reels. They are a little smaller and light than a lot of reels. I really love how they fit in my hand, just very comfortable. These babies are great crankbait reels (they work for everything, but my favorite crankbait reel). In addition to how they feel, it is an added bonus that they look cool too. JT Bagwell

How Far North
How far North are guys finding open water and fishing? I am in Northern Illinois and the lakes are still frozen for the most part. The main channels of the rivers are open, but the backwaters are still frozen as well. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will be good to go. JT Bagwell

If red fishing line is invisible in the water then why isnt red hooks?
Cajun Red Line is translucent so the light is able to pass through it. Daiichi Bleeding Bait hooks are not translucent so the light refracts and causes it to be visible. What these guys were referring to in reference to the search button was the fact that this has been discussed countless times. If you would like to read all of the previous posts you can look them up by using the search button on the forums. Hope that helps a little. JT Bagwell

New Pflueger reel looks sweet.
Shakespeare (Pflueger, All Star, Shakespeare, Cajun, X Tools, Penn and Ugly Stick) was purchased by Jarden Corporation. Shortly before that purchase, Jarden Corp purchased Pure Fishing and all of their brands (Abu Garcia, Berkley, Stren, Trilene, Spider, Johnson, Fenwick, etc). Jarden Corp also owns the following brands (and then some). Coleman (coolers, etc) Rawlings (baseball equipment) Crock Pot Mr. Coffee Health O Meter First Alert and Many Many more JT Bagwell what do you all think this will mean for the brands mentioned? i'm just getting into and excited about pflueger and abu garcia reels in particular and would hate to see major changes with these brands. I think the only thing that will likely change is the way the brands are marketed. You will probably see a lot of cross market advertising and things like that. They may also eliminate certain brands or product lines that do not perform well on the retail end. JT Bagwell

Flipping stick. Which to get?
If you are actually going to be doing more Pitchin' than Flippin', you might want to check out the 6'10" All Star Pitchin' Stick. I have been using then for the last few years and I love them. They are a lot easier to manuever than the bigger Flippin' Stick, but the still have a lot of backbone when you need to get a fish out of heavy cover. JT Bagwell

New Pflueger reel looks sweet.
I am not sure what my future will be as far as working with Pflueger yet. Since the buyout last fall things are not clear. I have been communicating with a guy at Pure Fishing that is now in charge of everything and it seems like things are headed in the right direction, but as of now nothing is final. I will pass along your request. JT Bagwell

I think I prefer PowerPro over Sufix Braid
PowerPro is the only braid I use now (for about the last 5-6 years anyway). It is super tough and very dependable. I never have to worry about PowerPro breaking when I pulling a bass out of a brush pile or lilly pads. JT Bagwell

10 Bearings in the Calais...where????

Cheating on my Revos with a Johnny Morris Elite.
All I know is I have been working with Pflueger (Shakespeare) for about 5 years and I was told that Silstar has nothing to do with prouduction of Pflueger reels. And another thing, not all Pflueger reels are made in Korea. I was also told in the same conversation that Pflueger produces the reels for BPS. It is kind of hard for me to argue with a person that works at the company headquarters. To be honest with you, I don't care who makes what, as long as they work when I use them. JT Bagwell

Cheating on my Revos with a Johnny Morris Elite.
Unless something has changed since the last time I asked this question at the company level, Silstar does not produce Pflueger reels and BPS reels are produced by Pflueger. Someone posted that on here a year or so ago so I asked when I called in to my PR guy there. JT Bagwell

New Pflueger reel looks sweet.
Seriously? I think normal retail is around $200. I live about 3 hours from the nearest BPS (Chicago). Thanks for the heads up. Maybe someone else that lives close to BPS can take advantage of the deal too. JT Bagwell
