  1. I personally think every one gains in this situation. Of course, some will gain more than others. ABA will be the big winner because they are going to get a huge influx of new members and a lot more media. BASS will gain because now they can still have their weekend series with less liability and work on their part. The BASS members gain a little because they still get to fish the Weekend Series. It doesn't sound like the Series would have been around much longer had someone else not taken it over. This whole deal was supposed to take place a few years ago. I knew, prior to the Weekend Series coming out, that ABA and BASS were communicating on getting a trail that could rival FLW's BFL. Hopefully, everyone can gain a little something from this joint venture. JT Bagwell
  2. This is the "official" release given by GYCB to those of us on their Pro Team. No mention of any lawsuit at all. JT Bagwell We have a production and manufacturing problem with the Flappin' Hog and it is being corrected. Until it is corrected, and it could take a considerable amount of time, we have had to remove the item from our product line. We can't sell something that we can't make. We regret and apologize for any inconvenience this has put on our distributors, dealers and retail customers. We are looking forward to having the Flappin' Hog back in production and available again as soon as possible.
  3. There are some very interesting viewpoints so far. Let's keep them coming. JT Bagwell
  4. The following is a copy of an email that I received today from David Hagood of the American Bass Anglers. I thought some of you might find it interesting. JT Bagwell For immediate release Nov. 14, 2006 BASS TO LICENSE BASSMASTER WEEKEND SERIES TO AMERICAN BASS ANGLERS, INC. The Bassmaster Weekend Series Operated by American Bass Anglers will continue to send the overall national champion to the CITGO Bassmaster Classic, the world championship of bass fishing. American Bass Anglers also plans to continue the popular one-day tournament structure and operate a schedule similar to the 2006 format. The tournaments will be conducted according to BASS rules and under the organization's highest fish-care standards. The first tournament is scheduled for January 2007. American Bass Anglers has successfully operated a tournament trail for weekend anglers for many years, said Jim Downs, BASS senior director of events. This gives BASS the opportunity to focus on the Elite Series, memberships and publications while serving the weekend angler with BASS-sanctioned events. While all Bassmaster Weekend Series participants must be members of both BASS and American Bass Anglers, BASS Federation Nation members and BASS Life members will receive priority entry into the tournaments. Additionally, BASS will provide priority entry into the Bassmaster Opens for the top six Bassmaster Weekend Series anglers from the Bassmaster Weekend Series Championship. We are very excited to work with BASS and its staff on this alliance, said Morris Sheehan, president of American Bass Anglers. The Bassmaster Weekend Series is the perfect addition to American Bass Anglers' current format, and to have a member of the Bassmaster Weekend Series earn the opportunity to compete in the Bassmaster Classic is a great honor. American Bass Anglers and BASS are fully committed to growing the Bassmaster Weekend Series to be the biggest and best national weekend series in the country. BASS will continue to deliver the news and information on the Bassmaster Weekend Series to members and fans in BASS Times as well as on www.Bassmaster.com. 5. If my memory serves me correctly, Wally Marshall's father-in-law was/is a member of this forum. Unfortunately I can't remember who it was. I just know I have talked to him before. Maybe he will see this post and give you some insight. JT Bagwell
  6. I have been using PowerPro for several years now and I can not recall a single problem, ever. Sometimes when you get hung up it seems almost impossible to break, but that is not really a bad thing. JT Bagwell
  7. When I fish the Fat Ika I use the 4/0 Daiichi Fat Gap bleeding bait hooks (the Red ones). I also use PowerPro fishing line with no leader. The line doesn't stretch at all and it allows me to get a good hookset. JT Bagwell
  8. I like the 1 oz. spinnerbaits from Gary Yamamoto Custom baits. The selection is kind of limited, but the baits work great. I like using baits with a small colorado blade on the front and a willow blade on the back. Usually I use baits that have painted blades, but I do use gold and silver as well (depending on the sun and water). Go to www.baits.com If you would like to see a picture of the spinnerbaits that I use. My favorite is the Chart/White color. JT Bagwell

Avid, For a second I thought you were talking about an Inside Line article I did a couple of years ago. lol I was like hey wait a minute. Then I realized that I never mentioned the underwater camera. For the most part, unless the water is very clear, the camera won't be of much help anyway. JT Bagwell
  10. I mostly use the 3/0 Daiichi FatGap and Offset Wide Gap hooks. I used to use 4/0 hooks most of the time, but I feel like I have a better hooking ratio with the smaller hooks. JT Bagwell
  11. My favorite was Abercrombie and Fitch (not the woods stuff) but they do not sell it at the Abercrombie stores here anymore. Now I have to resort to Acqua Di Gio by Armani. Both smell really good, but they are priced like Lucky Craft baits. JT Bagwell
  12. Yeah I read that article. That article was actually linked to our local television station's (WQAD Channel 8) website for the story. JT Bagwell
  13. It sucks that a lot of tournament anglers might have to totally reschedule their seasons. I personally have never fished any of their events, but I know they are very popular in this region. Hopefully everything works out. JT Bagwell
  14. Anyone heard any new info about Team Supreme lately? I noticed that their website is no longer working. I saw the article on another site that mentioned the Team Supreme owner (or whoever he was) being in some legal trouble. What's the latest scoop? JT Bagwell
  15. Thanks everyone. The little guy had a touch of jaundice (which seems way more common that I realized). We are finally back home again. I have spent the last week in two different hospitals waiting for the little dude to get back to normal. As of this morning everything was good and the doctor said he should be fine from here out. Ok time for a little bit of sleep. See Ya JT Bagwell
  16. Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that my wife and I had our first baby on Saturday. He weighed just over 7 lbs and is doing good. You can click the link below to see his hospital pictures (there are 4 of them, the "next" button is below the photo). If it asks for the password just enter "bagwell". http://www.growingfamily.com/webnursery/babypage_view.asp?URLID=6O0W0D9K7Q Talk to you all when I get another break. JT Bagwell
  17. If I had to guess I would say they are probably fishing somewhere around grass. It seems like that's how they do things in that area. I have only fished there one time so I can't really be of any help. JT Bagwell
  18. I am sure your trolling motor is only on a 12V system. But, if you have the room, I would put an extra battery in the boat just in case. JT Bagwell
  19. I do mine exactly the same way Ben does his. JT Bagwell
  20. Now that right there is funny!!! ;D JT Bagwell
  21. I have that game. It is kind of fun, but I haven't played it in over a year. JT Bagwell
  22. Man, I just read the story at the link you provided. I do remember hearing about that now. It was a bad deal for sure. At least the cop got the killer. JT Bagwell
  23. fishingrulz, Who is Dimebag Darrell? I recognize the name, but I mostly listen to country music. JT Bagwell
  24. That sure was a pig. JT Bagwell
