  1. Went perch fishing today, and we found them in two brush tops next to the bank, and the brush tops was close to an intersection like a T. We fished up, and down the canal. We caught 60 fish out of the two tops. We didn't catch fish anywhere else. We were using shiners. The middle of the canal is about 9ft, a boat lane is what it is, but the water was about 5ft deep at the brush tops. All the females were full of eggs, so I guess they are getting ready to move to the shallows, and bed up. Why were the fish in just two spots ??? Thanks, RP
  2. Good stuff whiterock. we found them yesterday in the brush tops in three feet of water, with a drop off to nine feet of water, near to the brush tops. We were fishing 12-18'' deep in the tops.
  3. Yep know what you mean. I fought the wind the last two days, and it sucks.
  4. Indeed a nice bass.
  5. Went back to the same spot yesterday, using my new fish finder. The fish were at 3-5ft, in a water depth of 8-10ft. The only lure getting hits was a bream colored lipless crank bait. Never caught a fish, just light strikes. I stepped down to a 1/4oz silver crankbait and got nothing. I didn't have a 1/4oz bream colored lipless crank bait. It may have been gar and catfish that the sonar was picking up, I don't know. The day was not a total loss. We did catch 11 crappie with shiners. Thanks for the advice. RP
  6. I am new to bass fishing. I went to a lake this morning, and threw four different color of spinner baits, three different color of worms, and two different color of jigs. Mostly fished around Cypress trees in narrow canals, some deep, some shallow. Not a bite. Any suggestions?
  7. I just bought a 14' jon boat with a 20hp Yamaha. Spent $600 at BassPro on two rod and reels, a few baits, and a Eagle Elite 480. I usually walk the creeks in Ark. for Smallmouth, but decided to jump in to Large mouth and crappie fishing. I will fish the Red River, Cross Lake, Caddo Lake, and Wallace Lake.
