I have a Stradic 3000 FI that has a goo'd up handle, for the price of replacing it is not worth it. Looked around for any solutions or alternatives but 'buy another' seems like the generic answer. This is also a problem with curado handles or probably others too, tends to be a factor of getting certain lotion or repellant on the handles which in turn makes them a gooey mess that you can't clean up. So far I decided to clean off the stradic handle with rubbing alcohol and applied 3 coats of automotive exterior clear coat to see if it'll hold back the problem. Really have nothing to lose here and hopefully I'll have a solution. So far the handle feels good and solid but I still haven't gone out and used it since it's on an inshore setup but will report after a good long jetty day at the shore, which will be soon.

Been to two Dick's, both had the 200G on sale 99.99 and 50% off that. Depending on distance grabing two for the price of one looks better. I would call first and confirm/have them put on hold until you get there though, if you make that choice.

I would suggest checking your guides or even the reel spool for nicks but you said berkley vanish so I am saying your line over anything first. Only 6 times? Two is enough. I had vanish do the same thing, after I ruled out the guides and reel I couldn't understand why the line kept snapping, well it was because the line is junk. There's a reason why people say its called vanish because that's what happens to your money when you use it.

Get rid of the berkeley Vanish, it's junk. 12lb is a good choice but the berkeley isn't Also you don't really need to post the street or zip where you live in the location

You would benefit more with a 7'+ Fast or Moderate action, medium light rod. 4-10lb rating instead of 6-10lb rating medium light power, More bend will get you out there farther The Stradic CI4 1000FML isn't worth jack over the standard CI4F, all you are doing with the FML is losing more line spool, if you decide to go with a heavier line you won't have more to put on. .1oz is nothing. Depending on plastics and hooks I would consider 6lb to drive the hook better.

I have several above the avid line, just nothing bigger than a MH. I find that the MH's are stout enough for the 3/8-1 oz range

Using hollow body frogs work much better with braid, should use at least 40lb, it'll also help you pull through the slop better, most people tend to have their own rod/reel setup for frogging. Tight drag and a fast reel in after the hook set and you shouldn't have a problem. If you don't want to use braid you can throw super flukes with a 5/0ewg. I've been using a 7' 10-20lb 1/2-1 1/2oz rod with a 3000 size reel spooled with 20lb braid using a fluke style mono leader rig for inshore/jetty fishing, mainly 2oz, it is a bit over the rating for the rod but it can handle it without a problem. This setup can handle abuse and the 20lb braid is strong enough for much abuse. I haven't done the surf sets but they have 30lb braid and with throw up to 6oz. More popular baits are Gulp's shrimp and crabs but you'll have to read some local reports on what's working better down in OB at that time and what's good to fish for.

That's healthy PA bass, for our area I've been seeing 19-20" bass in the 3-3.5lb range. For others out of the area, we have longer bass that weigh less. I remember catching a 5.2lber that went 24", according to most of the calculators out there it should have been closer to a mid/high 6lb but not for this region.

Far as the hook sets, are you using braid and at least a medium heavy rod?

Welcome to the forums Minsi is slowly draining away, there's been plenty of complaints lodged about the lack of maintenance, we have been given a 2-3 week finish time but I still doubt it. From this debacle the water level is so low the spillway is 2-3 feet below to be used and all the fish are displaced. Hopefully they will do something good since there is no funding for the lake and not other places close around to use. If they don't take care of it it'll turn into east banger lake just down the road. Oh and the lillys/hydrilla aren't the problem, the milfoil is.
