Honestly don't know what's going on with your rig. I can cast find with any amount of line on and is use 10lb line/diameter, never had a shortfall distance. Are you sure the line is going through the guides right?

MH avid is a bit much, for our rigs my wife used a 7'MF avid/50e while I used a 7'MF elite, my wife in third to started favoring her Pearl 6'8MXF and barely uses her 7'

It's good to hear you got that much mileage with your rod. I'm on vacation right now and it gives me the opportunity to visit some tackle ships in the area, I found some legend inshores to play with and ran across a legend inshore 7'6MLF, this rod felt so much better than my other croix ML's, the length vs the action felt just right and if my vacation involved buying rods than it would come home with me.

It comes down to wanting something more out of the chronarch e and paying for it. With the ci4 you get a little bit more spool capacity, a higher gear option, the strength of the xship, and for looks a much cooler paint job. Only the buyer can decide if that's worth the $70 bump
