Colonoscopy Prep Has Commenced

Featured Replies

As I was downing my 6 laxatives and the bottle of gag-a-maggot juice, I noticed that the laxative box says, "Gentle, predictable overnight relief".  Overnight?  All I can picture is some poor soul soiling his sheets.  But, at least it would be gentle.....

"through a keyhole at a hundred feet . . . . ."

Good Luck with the results.

Been there.  Done that.

If the drink you are referring to is magnesium citrate, there ain't nothing gentle about volcanic eruptions.

You might consider a seat belt to keep you from blasting off through the ceiling.

I'd gladly take the tube to the rear while under anesthesia once a year,  then to ever have to drink that crap again.

Don't forget to keep that tube of Chapstick clearly marked and discard of immediately in the morning.  And don't skimp on the premium toilet paper.

I just had to look in the toilet to see if I'd had a bowel movement or if I'd just flushed a covey of quail.  Mercy!

Oh what the experts put us through!!!!!

The prep is to clear out your large intestine to get a good video.  How would you accomplish that without the prep.

And, they do "anesthetize" you for the procedure when you go through the prep.

Maybe someone  here can go in with a GoPro...

All you.

I've been through that three times with three different preparation methods, but whichever it was, the stuff is the most putrid junk I've ever drank.

On a more serious note, everyone should get tested in accordance with the guidelines. In two out of the three procedures I've had, a pre-cancerous polyp was removed, so without the test I'd have contracted colon cancer.

dude wipes may be pretty handy in the boat. i'll let you all know.

I am completely aware of that.    I am just expressing my displeasure of the prep.

Since I've been in Florida, not only myself but my wife and every other person I know has had to use GoLYTELY colon prep.  In comparison magnesium citrate would be my preferred choice, not is it only $2.00 but the GoLYTELY cost me $54 with my co pay.

Gota check the old highway. Been there and going soon again. My prostate cancer has declined now there going to check my colon. Great.

The shame and respect is gone by now anyway getting undressed for radiAtion. I lost that months ago. Really pretty nurse's.

You can get the video of the procedure if the doctor allows you to have it.

I would rather go through that awful prep then to have to fight colon cancer.

Have fun and catch up on some back issues of Bass Angler's Magazine!!!

I used that stuff once or twice but since then they've switched to Gatorade mixed with Miralax powder. GoLytely is Putrid stuff and the most inapt product name I've ever heard of. :laugh5:

The 1 day prep is the worst part of it, but it's not much more than than drinking something unpleasant and having some inconvenience.  I'm sure many remember having having upper and lower GI, and holding in that barium, now that was unpleasant.
