  1. I'm actually going to throw out on the table the lews tournament pro, it's a workhorse reel that weighs 6.7oz. I have mainly Shimanos, but to name the ci4 chronarch here I'd say the tourney pro falls into the similar specs far as size, grip/palm, and weight. The difference is the ci4 feels like a more solid reel like tighter tolerances, smoother feel. Pretty basic when you buy a citica or higher up model. But if you don't real need the complete refinement feel, the tournament pro for much less is the ticket. I've also seen lews came out with a new redesigned tourney pro that weighs 6.2oz, it's still retail at $199 but the older model could be found for $130 if you looked around. I've handled Teams/Pros/Revos/Premiers and have to say many of them feel the same when it came to smoothness.
  2. Nice work, sure is an oddity that a seasoned trout would smash a spinnerbait. BPS has a fish gripper I always carry with me to handle fish like musky or trout http://m.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Grip-Master/product/93414/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT
  3. Someone say something about a flag? Sorry had to lol
  4. I'd defiantly check out why your pump is constantly running, sometimes people can't fix a fuel issue and they rewire the pump to be always on. It suppose to turn on for a couple seconds after the turn the key to 'On' position. Does it look like anything on the motor looks newer than the other parts? Are any Paint Seals broken on bolts? As for the stator, it could just be dirty in that spot, are you having any battery/charging issues?

  6. It's usually a standard to fish in saltwater and run it rough clean freshwater after every use. Ardent Reel Guard in a spray bottle is a cheap investment too, though I cant guarantee if it really works but I can say I don't have any rust on my reels.
  7. Your dad is right in the ballpark with the 7-8' rod with a 300 size reel. With 20lb braid it's a great multipurpose setup. If I had to buy over again in the $100 budget range I'd look into a Calico Jack ($60) rod and a Pfluger President ($60) in a 30/35 size
  8. Moat important is price, what's the budget? Typical cheaper combos are the Ugly Stik combos.
  9. I hope that girl doesn't have something blocking her intestines
  10. No records, don't even do full cleanings, only light ones and add oil/grease every now and then. If there's an issue then it gets fixed and fully cleaned. I've yet to have a real problem with my baitcasters. Had some issues with some spinning though.
  11. Downsize your tackle
  12. I'd call losing lures by grooves cutting line a big deal
  13. 26 is too much for a 150. You should be most concerned with where your revs are. Max on the motor and where each prop gets you to
  14. You could say the same about most american anglers fishing from the bank too, also looking for the versatility rod. See countless people bass fishing from the bank everywhere I go. I mean how many posts here about a all-in-one rod. I don't know, once I fished a xf rod for jigs and a moderate for cranking and found them each excelled at those single techniques it's hard to find a rod that can do both of them the best with one rod.
  15. The Porta Boat has been around for years
  16. First part is Race to Witch Mountain, next is Pulp Fiction
  17. Thinner diameter and braids
  18. Found that chainmail works better
  19. Taper is the key there. If MB would show up to more sportsman/fishing shows and had rods to handle they'd have less weary potential buyers. Their descriptions are bad to begin with, like jigs rods that throw cranks.
  20. It stays with the trailer thats tied to the truck, so it's in the truck. When I'm out in the boat I don't need any trailer info.
  21. If the birds loose this one, I'm going to stop watching them this season. It's bad when your team makes you lose faith in them.
  22. You're complaining about a problem you created, that's the issue. Don't be mad about the state over your choices.
  23. Well said. Why a bass fishing superstore is being compared to a general merchandise store is already perplexing.
  24. CI4+ is a very nice reel, I don't see a urgency to spend more on a reel past the CI4 with the price point and quality/specs.
  25. SCII to SCIII noticeable difference. SCIII to SCIV tiny increase in sensitivity and crispness. SCIV to SCV noticeable difference. The 3 to the 4 isn't much of an upgrade, the 4 to 5 is noticeable just like jumping from the 2 to the 3.
