  1. Good. I am glad to see Clunn get it. Roland Martin seems like he is a jacka$$. Don't know him personallly and have never met him, but that's the vibe I get from watching him on TV. No doubt he is a great fisherman though.
  2. Either way that someone won't be going fishing with me again, but someone breaking a rod of mine by misuse would reallly tick me off. Thanksgiving day football games or New Years games
  3. Exactly. What to use: anything really. I am partial to C-rigging creature baits and 6" Dingers/Senkos.
  4. I fish a lake kind of like your describing. Only structure is weedline around the whole lake and docks. Where the weedline and docks meet in the shade produce for me all summer long. If I am catching a bunch a peanuts I then put the boat in the weedline, start heading out towards the middle of the lake and find the first break line on my depth finder. Make a mental note or throw out a marker bouy of where that breakline is. Use that break line as if it were the shore. Where deep water swings closest to the bank will also produce. This is for largemouth. Never fished for small mouth.
  5. I had a great night. ;D http://bassresource.com/cgi-bin/bass_fish/YaBB.pl?board=Outing_ID;action=display;num=1122215254;start=0#0
  6. Looks good to me. That might drive you nuts to look at everyday though when there's ice on the lake ;D. I will be buying a house here in the next couple years and I am planning on doing an office/computer room something like you got.
  7. This topic was brought up on another message board I visit from time to time. I was thinking about upgrading to the Insider so I could watch those videos and they advertise they have extensive lake maps for lakes big and small all over the country. I am glad I didn't. A guy on the other board joined and apparently the movies are about 30 seconds to a minute long and the extensive lake maps aren't so extensive. He wrote a letter to ESPN and they refunded him in full. I still enjoy getting Bassmaster Mag and Bass Times every month. Aren't they about a $1 an issue if you are a member? That's a pretty fair price IMO.
  8. I wacky rigegd a 7" Dinger the other night and caught that 4 lb'er. Why not a 9"?
  9. Spring, doesn't get any better than site fishn IMO. Your fishng in a Buddy Tourney, you have one peanut in the livewell and there is 10 minutes until weigh in and you know that you are not going to finish in the money. On your next cast you hook into a 30 lbs. flathead on 10 lbs test. Do you: A. Cut your line any try to catch a late bass or two or B. Fight the flathead and head home with a good dinner
  10. I can't pull a boat with an old muscle car. If I had to choose one it would be a modern truck although I would love to have both. Truck as a daily driver and an old muscle car in the garage. Yankees (baseball team ) Lovem or hatem
  11. I made my first night trip lastweek and I did a little research myself. You can look through the post in this section. There were actually a couple different post. I also posted my results from both nights in the Outing section. Anyways, I read that bass have a lot better sight than us at night, but their eyes take a lot longer to adjust. The articles also estimated that in the months of July and August, 90% of a bass's activity for the day will be between 12:00 am - 5:00am. I found both times I went that fishing was excellent between 1:00am and 2:00 am, then turmed off for a while, and then again at 4:00 am until sun up.
  12. VERY LOW!!!!! I think I remeber reading in Mike Ike's book that he has expenses alone of around $100,000 per fishing season. That number is going to be even bigger now with the expanded schedule. And if you consider the guys that fish the Federation tournies professionals, then that number is even lower. Less than 1% ??? just a guess. The odds are definelty stacked against you,
  13. Oh man. I hope they start making them in different colors. Those colrs are pretty weak IMO. I need those in Black and Blue and I have a date with the lake at night. It will be interesting to see what that fork tail does to the action. Can't wait to get my hands on them.
  14. never used Mccoy, but I have heard good things. Have to go with Trilene XL. It's the smoothest casting line I have used and I have tried quite a few. Snakes, the devil's creature or God's creature
  15. It's a great little lake. Like I said I caught that 8 there this spring along with a handful of 5's. I have only fished there once this summer and had a pretty good day. My buddy caught is PR of 4.5.
  16. If I told you I would have to kill you.... just joking. ;D Lone Star Lake just south of Lawrence and Clinton Lake. I knew someone would beat me out. That is one hawg Chris. Where did you catch it at? I don't think anyone is taking you over.
  17. I GOT THE VIBE. Caught a 4.2, a 5.2, a 5.8, and 6-8 lbs fish story. I posted in Outings with pics.
  18. I am new to night fishing, just went for the first time on Thurs. night, but I did some homework. I stumbled across a ton of articles and many of them said the best bite will be after midnight. Bass can see in the dark much better than we can, but their eyes take a whole lot longer to adjust. I also read an article that predicetd that in the month of July and August, 90% of a bass's activity is between 12:00 am and 5:00am. I would dig some of those articles up for you, but duty calls.
  19. Had to go down to Texas for that one. Biggest one I have caught in Kansas was this spring 8 lbs. 3 oz. I was sight fishing for her and it actually took me two days to catch it. I spotted her right at sunset and worked her for a good hour or so. I came back the next morning at sunrise and didn't catch her until 10:30 am. At the same lake I found a dead 26 inch. Didn't have a scale, but I think it could have been a state record.
  20. Just woke up from my nap. I am also heading out at midnight. I have a feeling one us is going to have a hell of a story for tommorow. One of us needs to at least catch a 6+. THE FORCE IS WITH US!!!!! Good luck all!!!!
  21. I win so far ;D. But I know there are guys on this board with some 13's and 14's. Mine 10 lbs. 8 oz., 25 1/2 inches. (In the picture)
  22. Cast.......reel...........hang on ;D. I usually use them in 8ft. of water or less. My favorite place to use them is along tree lines.
  23. Whoops, forgot to say motorcycles, ATVs, and keyboards.
  24. That whole Yamaha, G3, Skeeter thing has always confused me too. Think about the products that Yamaha sells..............Outbaords, personal watercraft, jetboats, sportboats, guitars, pianos, drums, stereo equipment, ampifiers, TVs, projection equipment, speakers, and my dad used to have yamaha golf clubs. That is one diverse company. I actually did a mini paper for my marketing class this year.
  25. For soft plastics I am starting to believe that you only NEED a few colors. Black and blue, blue and black, and some shade of green. That's about all I have used this year, except for sight fishing, and have had good sucess. I have been trying to cut down on the amount of tackle I carry. If I carry all my tackle with me the floor of the boat looks like a disaster area at the end of the day. I still carry every crankbait and spinnerbait color under the rainbow though.
