Interesting way to Fish
If Flatfish and I are talking about the same thing, they actually use the bottle as a reel, as where in a jug line the bottle is more of a bobber. It's pretty incredible to watch.

What Polarized Glasses Do You Use?
Amen astech!!! This something I have a hard time understanding sometimes: $25,000+ Bass Boat $25,000+ Truck to pull the boat Thousands of dollars worth of rods and reels Thousands of dollars worth of tackle ................. Won't spend over $100 on a pair of sunglasses that could save your sight

Interesting way to Fish
I see your from KS. Did this happen to be at Lacyne? I have seem this being done by the hot water outlet and they absolutely hammer the carp and catfish using corn.

any guess on the weight of this fish?
I would also guess 3.5 lbs. That thing looks like it should weigh around 5 though. Look at the size of it's tail compared to the rest of it's body. Maybe the camera angle?

What Polarized Glasses Do You Use?
Couldn't say it better myself. I wear the Turbines though. They fit my face better. I have also used H2O Optics, Oakleys, and Bolle. They were all pretty good, but he Costa's are my favorite. I still use my Bolle's on overcast days though because they have Amber lenses.

Let's see your boats!!!
Here's my beast ;D. I bought this when I was 15 (now 22). It is great to fish ponds and smaller bodies of water, but my dad and I wanted to start fishing larger waters. So two years ago my dad bought a '96 Skeeter from a family friend that honestly looked like it just rolled of the show room floor. It was incredible. Then last fall my dad was fishing by himself and punched a hole through the fiberglass. A guy at the fiberglass repair shop offered my dad more than he paid for it with the hole still in it so he took his offer. My dad was using it about once a month, but I was using it any chance I could get. I was away at school when he sold it and he didn't even tell me until the next spring that he had sold it. Now I am back to old faithful :-/. I guess it beats fishing from the shore. I just don't like being limited to the bodies of water I can fish and I can't go if the wind is over 10 mph.

I'm on recent streak of Bass swallowing the hook??
I know what you mean by "streak". I have only gut hooked three bass this year and they were all on the same day on back to back to back catches. I went the whole spring and biggest part of the summer without having one, then BAM, three in a row. The through the gill hook removal worked on all, but one of them :'(. Makes me wonder if it's something the bass actually does.

How did you do this years so far?
It has been my best year of fishing ever. The only problem is that I didn't get to go enough, but I supose all of us have that problem . Fish I have caught this year: A new PR on March 25th - 10.5 lbs in the pic (Lake Fork, TX) On April 4th I caught a new home lake PR of 8.1 lbs off a bed April was my best month of fishing in my life. I was getting to go just about every other day and I was catching a bunch of bass in the 4-6 lbs. range. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL SPRING AGAIN!!!! I have also started to night fish this summer which I really enjoyed. Thanks to LBH. His pics he posted back in June? gave me the itch that I decided to scratch and I am glad I did. Baits of the year: Quality - Crankbaits Quantity - Wacky-rigged YUM Dinger (my new confidence bait) Fun - Buzzbait Right now I am slated to start fishing tourneys for the first time on the non-boater side in late October. (School and money permitting > )

what is the deepest you have ever caught a LMB
I have caught a few in strip pit that are 60+ ft. deep. I was in a kayak though so I don't know exactly where are how deep I caught them.

Costsa Del Mars
WARNING - If you are going to spend some $$$ on a quality pair of sunglasses, make sure you have tried them on first. They have different models and you don't know, without trying them on, which model best suits the shape of your face. That being said, I have a pair of Costas and love them. I got mine at Cabela's.

Rate: Fishing On The Edge
The book wasn't what I expected. I thought it would have been a lot more informative. The information he does give in the book is pretty basic stuff. That being said, I still thought it was a great book. It made me realize that fishing for a living is not all fun and games and it can be a tremendous drag on your personal life. I guess I really didn't realize how many days those guys are on the road.

"Palming" the reel???
The pics above are exactly how I hold a reel except I keep my pincky behind the trigger. I like to hold reels this way not only because it feels "right" for me, but alos because the line passes over youe index finger for extra feel.

College division of ABA
I wish we had a team here at KU. If it wasn't my last year I would look into starting one.

Boat Rankings
I have always known of Bass Cat's. I just didn't know they were rated so highly. I visit another message board and those guys rave about them. Apparently their warranty/customer service is unmatched which should be very important when you are spending $30,000+ on a boat.

If you could fish any lake?
I would like a week on Lake Fork during the peak of the spawn, with no other boats on the water. If any of you have fished Fork in the middle of the spawn you know what I mean. It's like trying to fish in the middle of Times Square.

Cover Vs Structure
I don't get too caught into the defintion of structure and cover. They are both something that a bass will relate to. Here's what I go by: Stucture- Slope/contour of the bottom of the lake Cover-Anything a bass can hide in or by (grass, weeds, docks, laydowns) Now here's a question? Docks provide cover for a bass, but are they structure as well? Or does it really matter what you "call" it? A bass will relate to it one way or another.

Boat Rankings
This is a touchy subject. It's hard to get a fair answer although mcbass gave as fair assement of his boat as you can get. Great review!!! It's hard to get an unbiased opinion because most guys will say that whatever they have is "THE BEST". It's like a Ford/Chevy thing. Although the guys on this board are a bunch of good guys and seem to give more truthful and fair assements of products more than other message boards. This question was posed on another messeage board I visit and it turned into a Skeeter/Ranger war of words. My opinion is that all the main boat companies put out a quality product. I'll try and find the link a boat dealer on another site gave that listed JD Power&Associates rankings.

How & when do I fish a fluke?
Are you bringing the hook out of the back. Basically the business end of the hook should just about lay flat on the back of the fluke.
-
clear water
I fish one that's about as clear as you are saying. Seems like a lot of people have troubles catching fish in gin clear water, but I seem to like it and do fairly well. I like to physically be able to see the structure I am fishing underwater. You can learn a lot by watching your bait and watch where bass are hiding and then you can incorporate that into other lakes you fish.

How & when do I fish a fluke?
I have seemed to have better luck fishing the fluke prespawn and then again post spawn into early summer. Then I bring out the shad colored ones in the fall. Twitch, twitch.......paaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuusssssssseeeeeeeee........twitch..............paaaauuuusssseeee .........twitch, twitch Long pauses............so long there almost uncomfortable.

three rod question
When I go fishing in my two man boat I only take three rods. 1) 7 ft. MH w/ Braid - this is either rigged with a t-rigged plastic or jig to fish docks and thick cover. This is also the rod I use to c-rig. And lately is been rigged with a frog and fished in thick grass. 2) 6'9" MH w/ 12 lbs. Yo-Zuri hybrid - I use this for spinnerbaits/buzz baits and weightless plastics 3) 6'6" M w/ 10 lbs. Trilene XL - I use this for crankbaits and top waters with treble hooks
