  1. Either way that wouldn't change "Orange Lake" to "Lake Orange"
  2. Well, the topic specifies "Orange Lake" Wayne. It is listed in the "Southeast" section and no state was designated. Is there also an "Orange Lake" in Virginia, or would that be "Lake Orange"?
  3. Yes, in years gone by we vacationed on Orange Lake. Lois & I stayed at a now-defunct fish camp which was then headed-up by Chet Westergard. Since our stay however, Orange Lake was ravaged in 1991 by a devastating karst (sinkhole). Orange today has gotten over the hump, but really never made a full recovery. Roger

Yeah, we all have a tough time with jerks

My wife & I (RoLo) take at least 1 fishing vacation every year, and have done so for the past 50-some years. Before each & every angling trip, I meticulously peruse everything that I can get my hands-on with regard to 'WHERE' & 'WHEN'. Without exception though, I diligently skip-over all data & information pertaining to 'HOW' (needless to say, we never hired a guide). Strange but true, avoiding all locally favorite techniques, lures & colors has served us extremely well throughout the country & over the years. Back To Your Question: I've amassed an enormous horde of unusable techniques, unusable lures & unusable color patterns, but in a paradoxical twist, I don't have a clue to their identity Roger
  6. I asked John where he wanted me to sign, but apparently he's got more signatures than he can handle
  7. "cheaper to make own skirts?" Sounds like my wife
  8. By golly, NOW you're hooked! Not my favorite lure either, but I've gotten a couple bites on them. Roger
  9. "Ditto Gator Tail" Bar none, the Ditto Gator Tail was the hottest worm back in the Larry Nixon era, a time when Stanley Jigs also ruled the roost. I have a hunch that during that same era a tackle shop called CATT was burning the midnight oil Roger

I can deal with that, I've been called a lot worse than "Neanderthal"

That's Crazy! My only sighting was "also" at the Polo Lounge. Everyone there was saying that I had too much to drink. But I could smell that ape before I seen him, so I knew it wasn't the Maker's Mark

    You seen the Skunk Ape??
  13. I only drink when I have something to celebrate or when I'm depressed. But I almost never get depressed, only when there nothing to celebrate.
  14. Predators are opportunistic feeders because unlike people, they don't have the luxury of choice. As a result, a bass's next meal may bear no semblance to its last meal. For instance, the odds are high that the next bass you catch on a spinnerbait, will have nothing in its stomach that vaguely resembles a yellow & white safety-pin spinner. Roger
  15. Me too, and it's visited by some well-known celebrities. For example, I believe that Cutbait was actually "Allen Funt". Roger
  16. Okay I give up...So what's wrong with that?
  17. In your clear water lakes, I doubt that a paddle-tail trailer is necessary, and might even be counterproductive. In the clear water lakes you fish, I'd sooner go with a quiet but active lure like a 'Kalin Lunker Grub' Roger
  18. In my experience, 'Berkley Trilene XL' where XL stands for Xtra Limp. Roger
  19. I'm glad you solved your problem, which can sometimes be a hassle. It's history now, but I suspect the fuel filter might've been the problem. Usually, when the fuel line is involved you'll feel it in the bulb pressure or see gas leakage around an O-ring. In any case, good deal Roger

That's how I feel every morning Nice job *Hootie Roger
  21. Oddly, Manns Jelly Worm was temporarily discontinued, then by popular demand I suppose it's back in production. A couple years ago I bought a 100-count bag of Jelly Worms in watermelon chartreuse. In hindsight, it's kind of a washed-out color and I'm sorry I didn't order Black Grape Roger
  22. It goes without saying, I love straight-tail worms, ribbon-tail worms, sickle-tail worms, paddle-tail worms and stick worms. Most would agree that the plastic worm is a year-round lure that shine their brightest throughout the summer Roger
