Well, the topic specifies "Orange Lake" Wayne. It is listed in the "Southeast" section and no state was designated. Is there also an "Orange Lake" in Virginia, or would that be "Lake Orange"?

Yes, in years gone by we vacationed on Orange Lake. Lois & I stayed at a now-defunct fish camp which was then headed-up by Chet Westergard. Since our stay however, Orange Lake was ravaged in 1991 by a devastating karst (sinkhole). Orange today has gotten over the hump, but really never made a full recovery. Roger

My wife & I (RoLo) take at least 1 fishing vacation every year, and have done so for the past 50-some years. Before each & every angling trip, I meticulously peruse everything that I can get my hands-on with regard to 'WHERE' & 'WHEN'. Strange but true, avoiding all locally favorite techniques, lures & colors has served us extremely well throughout the country & over the years. Predators are opportunistic feeders because unlike people, they don't have the luxury of choice. As a result, a bass's next meal may bear no semblance to its last meal. In your clear water lakes, I doubt that a paddle-tail trailer is necessary, and might even be counterproductive. In the clear water lakes you fish, I'd sooner go with a quiet but active lure like a 'Kalin Lunker Grub' Roger

I'm glad you solved your problem, which can sometimes be a hassle. It's history now, but I suspect the fuel filter might've been the problem. Usually, when the fuel line is involved you'll feel it in the bulb pressure or see gas leakage around an O-ring. In any case, good deal Roger
