  2. I hate touching frogs too lol. Must have been nasty trying to unhook it? How did u unhook it lol?
  3. I follow mike iaconelli, dave mercer, and bass brigade
  4. Im guessing, depends on how much line u have out!
  5. Im good at pitching now, but casting is pretty tough. I can only cast up to 8 yards without backlash. My spool tension is pretty loose, the lure can drop vertically and cause a small backlash. and the magnetic brakes are at 3. What should i do to get more distance? Im educating my thumb now so most of the time when i cast i stop it with my thumb.
  6. yeah i can pitch to the middle of the carpet 3 yards away consistently now without any backlash using 1/2 oz lure
  7. d**n wished the customer service told me that earlier when i call them but thanks alot!! I fixed it, but hopefully i can cancel the order i placed. ahhh this is making me crazy
  8. aaah im so mad! My baitcaster finally came and the reel doesnt work! when i crank the handle the spool doesnt turn. it does everything fine. Now i have to wait for another week before my new baitcaster comes. Cant believe cabelas doesnt check if their items work before putting it in the box!
  9. crankbaits, topwater frogs
  10. right thanks guys, cant wait for my baitcaster to arrive on tuesday!!! the wait is killing me
  11. they fight pretty nice, they dont jump much but they do make your drag scream.
  12. I fish barbless hooks and it hardly make any difference in terms of landing ratios. I think it penetrates better and most of the time the fish's lips looks better when i release them. I dont however debarb treble hooked lures, but thats because im far too lazy to squash down 6 barbs.
  13. Only bad thing about bps is that there are non in my area and the nearest one is an hour and a half away!!!
  14. oh yeah and how long did it take you to be able to cast successfully 95% of the time without backlashes?
  15. hi guys, i just ordered my first baitcaster setup on cabelas. Paid $50 for a $75 combo because of the sales going on now! Its a daiwa strikeforce paired with a Daiwa triforce 6'6" medium heavy, fast action rod http://www.cabelas.c...ch-All+Products. Im spooling on 14lb tourney tough mono line from bps. I mainly fish heavier soft plastics, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, topwater with this combo. It is also my 'heavy cover' combo as my other spinning combo is medium action with 8lb line. Do you think this is a good first baitcaster setup? im a full time student so i dont have alot of money to spend on fishing. And are there any good tips to offer on using a baitcaster well?
  16. thanks it was fun while it lasted!
  17. I wouldnt and i wouldnt recommend eating them. They can live in places with high bacteria content and they eat everything including trash.
  18. i guess they should fight like carp because they are the 'domesticated ornamental' morph of common carp. My first koi was pretty boring though it pulled out drag for about 5 yards and the rest of the time i was just dragging its fat bum back. I was using 8 lb test. However the second koi i hooked fought like hell, it pulled about 40 yards of drag and fought for like 2 minutes. I think its about 16-18 lb
  19. hi guys, I came back from Singapore not too long ago. I was there for 6 weeks and fished for quite a while, it was great fun! 20. are the gators aggressive?
  21. sooooo my spinnerbait's skirt band broke, i dont know how... but anyway, i was inspired by beetle spins and put on a mister twister shad swimbait. Do you think this will haul in fish as good as a regular spinnerbait?
  22. your situation sounds almost just like mine. I dont have a friend that actually bass fishes, but i know some guys that fishes the pond i do. There is this hot chick that fishes there too lol. Most bass fisherman 'round my area are 20-40 years old
  23. lol its great. It happened to me bout a week ago. I threw out my power worm and saw my line moving and few seconds later... a fish! that was truly my last cast because i was alr running late
