Im going to be fishing for peacock bass in the summer and Im stocking up on lures because im fishing overseas. The peacocks that im targeting are mostly small 1-6 lbers, South Florida size peacock bass. Problem is i dont really understand their behavior and patterns because its my first time. So i need tips like where do they like to hang out? When is the best time to fish for peacocks? What should i use on a cloudy overcast day? What should i use on a bright day? Would a spinnerbait work? etc.

had the same problem with a mono line. I decided to stop wetting the knot. I think the water is acting as a lubricant, causing the knot to slip. After the change, the increase friction kept the knot in place. I was using improved clinch knot

Many brands have different color names but they are generally the same color so just choose the option most similar to your favorite color. PS. I have the same kind of problem! I fish this extremely pressured pond, and the bass hardly bites on soft plastics (not counting bedding bass! They bite on anything). Not even fluke. I logged maybe 4-5 hours fishing with fluke at that pond and not 1 bite. But recently i switched to spinnerbait and im killing them. I'll probably try a buzzbait next too, because i saw a guy getting 4 strikes in a rather short period of time using a buzzbait.

I signed up for this but unfortunately no where in california is stocked with tagged bass lol

i wouldnt do it personally. This is the reason why people are starting to think that bass pro shops' quality is declining. Some people return used, maybe slightly damaged, scratched rod for a new rod, and bass pro shops dont inspect them carefully because they dont have the right tools at their store. Thus resulting in a 'decline' in their quality. And if too many people think they have bad quality goods, many people will stop buying things there, and it could possibly cause BPS to close for good. Although chances are it wont anytime soon. I still wouldnt do it if i were you!

Today i accidentally belly hooked a bedding bass. She tried shaking the lure off resulting in a half inch long cut on the belly by the hook. She wasnt bleeding much if not at all after the mishap. Thankfully i crush down the barb on most of my hook so it was easy removing the hook. Question is do you think it will survive after being belly hooked? Fish swam off fine, and was on the bed again after 30 minute when i came back to look at it.

Hi people, today i caught 4 bass and 1 bluegill... nbd. but before i decided to go home, i decided to have one last cast of my white spinnerbait. i reeled the spinner in fairly quick and there was this 3 pounder following it all the way from about 10 feet! problem is it didnt strike it, just followed it and hang around the bank. I cast it out several times again at different speeds and retrieve and half of the time, the fish just chases my spinnerbait and never actually hit it. Its not gaurding its nest or anything. btw the pond is 1-3 feet deep, and i caught another bass about 7 minutes ago on the same spinnerbait with a fairly quick retrieve. Can someone thats good with spinnerbaits tell me how to get the fish to strike? Little guy tried to jump when i was taking a picture lol
